Aaaand kaboom.

Isn't it time to bring .Mac back up? I would really like to have access to my e-mail right now.

While I'm at it, while I long ago accepted that .Mac web services were unencrypted, wouldn't this have been a good time to add https support? Oh well, maybe next time.

Wow... This is the most unimpressive launch I've ever seen. Stores can't activate iPhones, stores running out in less than an hour, updates don't work, MobileMe still doesn't work, and people can't even use their new iPhone that they put down $200+ for...

What the hell are they doing over there in Cupertino?

this might quite possibly be the stupidest question ever...but...i can log into MM and everything is working fine (but slowww). but as soon as i click onto mail, the pop up thing for the MM guided tour blocks my mail. i can't click out of it, can't scroll. it basically just freezes MM..and therefore can't check my mail. i have mail i need to check, this is killing me. am i doing something wrong?

am i doing something wrong?

Yes - not reading the posts in this gargantuan thread - then you'd know that there are serious problems with MobileMe at the moment - some people are getting stuff some people aren't but EVERYONE is having a problem of some sort because the service is NOT up and running at full capacity. What is the point of people posting so many posts if no one reads them, and just goes on demanding the same questions over and over again?

that started out sarcastic - but towards the end, I'm not sure...

i am aware of the problems, thanks. i have read a huge majority of this thread, as well as ones on other forums. but i haven't read anyone that was having the same issue that i was. it was just a curiosity for something that seems like a fairly stupid issue.

mmmmm not sure Apples idea of soon is the same as mine:mad: I want my webmail!!!!!!!

Stop saying it's UP!

I wish people would stop posting these messages, " IT'S OFFICIALLY UP, IT'S WORKING". It is not "working" yet. Until Apple posts the download for the Mobileme software for System Preferences and until the web services run smooth and fast and all aspects are near perfect and until iPhone users can get iTunes to sync perfectly with their iPhones then IT'S NOT WORKING YET.

Man I bet Jobs is pulling peoples hair out and screeming

 This is such an embarrassment for :apple:  I bet MS was hoping for this failure.

So much for my buying Mobile Me today and relaunching my website and finally forwarding all my email accounts to one account  and I don't even have an iphone.

Of course what company would switch everyone on day 1. they should have selected a few people at a time. I bet the server can't handle the traffic. Didn't an earlier thread have a post where someone said the Me.com could not handle the amount of traffic MobileMe would produce?

I am sad right now. :( .mac is the one app I have not bought yet as I wanted to wait for mobile me. Guess I will have to wait another month (by then I will have the money and hopefully all the problems will be figured out).

I hate to see what APL's stock will do at the end of the day.

Again?

This is complete BS.

It's not just you. Ran into the same problem on my work PC. Just go to Full Screen View on your browser and it will raise the page enough to click "Done." That will allow you to access the content beneath, assuming it's actually working.

Sadly, I have to agree. I think Apple should really look hard at this and rethink trying to increase their present market shares on their products. It appears they are barely able to handle what they have now.

I feel this whole thing is bringing us MacRumors/.mac users closer together ;)
I never stayed up so late on this site before.

Well, when their status page changes to say all services are working normally, and all of the .Mac branding from that page has disappeared, logic would dictate they were close. that's why i put that.

however, now it's down again, so that message was obviously not correct.

now i'm getting an http/1.1 service unavailable message... :(

MobileMe = Apple's Vista (for now) :D

I hate to make a joke against poor :apple:, but remember all the sarcastic jokes about how the ME in the logo looked like the ME in Windows Millenium and that OS was a complete failure. I say Apple Jinxed itself. MS steals from Apple all the time to play catch up. the day Apple stole a logo from MS turned out to be a failure like the MS.

So sad, and this could have been a revolutionary turning point where more people would have looked more at Apple to switch to. While Apple is superior in all realms, this just gives people another chance to laugh and not take them seriously.

I know the problem, trying to use / accept Exchange. Our MS Exchange server crashed alot - now that has plauged Apple.

The only problem here seems to be your reading comprehension, Hoss. The guy you quoted had a legit question with a legit answer. I don't fault him for not reviewing 1500 emails to find it, either. It wasn't a service question, it was how to get around the intro video to his content when his browser screen wouldn't allow him to scroll. That's a browser issue, has nothing to do with Apple. Man up and apologize.

Patience people

My iPhone is currently updating to 2.0, and all is well.

You have to realise that with so many people, with so many emails takes a while to transfer to a new system.

We just did this at work with 2000 employees, and it took 5 days.

Patience will be rewarded.

Get off your high horse and hush your fuss.

No apologies I'm afraid. The answer to the question he asked has already been given in this thread. If he'd been reading it he'd have had it answered.
