My iPhone is currently updating to 2.0, and all is well.

You have to realise that with so many people, with so many emails takes a while to transfer to a new system.

We just did this at work with 2000 employees, and it took 5 days.

Patience will be rewarded.

We'll see how philosophical you are when your attempt to update to 2.0 bricks your phone because itunes validation server is down.

Seriously I cannot believe that my .mac/.me web email has been down for 36 frikking hours now. This is beyond fail.

Any product launch that makes Apple users yearn for the stability provided by .Mac is inauspicious, to put it kindly.

Given the realities that 3G iDay was going to provide much stress on Apple's limited resources today, I was very much hoping that MM would have been rolled out last Friday, or very early this week, thus allowing them to work out some of these kinks before they had to address other issues (i.e. iPhone activations galore). Frankly, I cannot see why activating push technology and web apps a week before the the iPhone release would have been a bad thing but hey, I don't get paid like SJ so what do I know?

up?

it's up again for me.

snip snap, snip, snap

let's see if it goes snap again, however they changed their support site as well to show this, so maybe good news?

Some MobileMe members may be unable to access groups.mac.com. Service will be restored ASAP. We apologize for any inconvenience.

All other MobileMe services are online and fully operational

seems to be running pretty fast too.

I guess that in hind site, they should have launched MM last week, but they probably had folks saying 3 to 5 hours, not 3 to 5 days.....

No apologies I'm afraid. The answer to the question he asked has already been given in this thread. If he'd been reading it he'd have had it answered.

And you believe he should have sorted through 1500 posts over 60 pages to look for it on the off chance someone had already posted an answer???? We don't all have the luxury of the French "work" day to sift through that much crap. If you knew the answer you could have answered it in half the time it took you to rag on the dude.

MobileMe has not been working properly for, what 16, 18 hours? - I think that's enough time to read through the posts...

PS Not letting a bit of anti-French sentiment creep in there are we? If Bertrand were handling the MobileMe transition perhaps we wouldn't be in this mess...

Its finally up for me, sorta. Runs VERY slow, and contacts wont come up at all.

So far, other than Push, I see nothing special about MM. Not sure what the big deal is. If it continues to run so poorly(as did .mac), then no way I'd move anything critical(like my main e-mail acct) over to MM. Probably dumping it at my next renewal.

I just wanted to point out that Safari (at least on my MacBook) won't extend the screen far enough down to click "Done" on the Mail application. However, if you just hit the return button on your keyboard, it will get rid of the "Getting Started with MobileMe" stuff.

Oh, and it's back up for me. Not quite as snappy as I'd like, but getting there.

It's not just you. Ran into the same problem on my work PC. Just go to Full Screen View on your browser and it will raise the page enough to click "Done." That will allow you to access the content beneath, assuming it's actually working.
THANK YOU so much. i really appreciate it.

Yeah contacts will not load at all for me. I set up MM to sync my contacts on my iphone and lost everything... for now. Damn. Bad few days for Apple. Everything is not working properly.

CNN just posted a link on their front page that reads "Problems reported with new iphones". when you click on the link, you get the headline in big letters

Glitch hampers iPhone launch

IN the Article it says that AT&T are telling customers to perform the last step of activation at home with their own computers:

A spokesman for AT&T Inc., the exclusive carrier for the iPhone in the U.S., said there was a global problem with Apple Inc.'s iTunes software that prevented the phones from being fully activated in-store, as had been planned.

Instead, employees are telling buyers to go home and perform the last step by connecting their phones to their own computers, spokesman Michael Coe said.

This is not good. If I go to:

Apple's stock is dropping fast. Down

172.50
-4.13 (-2.34%)

and still falling.......

No brick!

Email has been working through Mail constantly, don't know what your problem is.

LOL - that's funny! "read the whole thread", he says! what are we on now, 1500?

Stocks across the board are down right now, it's not as if Apple is the only one not doing well today. Granted the problems are not helping with the stocks but also realize it's not just Apple that's not doing well today thus far.

more bad news

Had mail thru me.com working fine. Then locked up and got dumped from the server about an hour ago. Have yet to be able to get back on.
