Cant beleive i actually considered selling mine and replacing it with a macbook...not so sure thats gonna happen. Whatever happens my sister and brother will be getting this laptop because they need computers but me, im gonna stick with my PB/iMac
My Rev A 12" PowerBook is still going strong and I've used it for hours every day since I got it, right when it was released.

But I'll be replacing my Rev A 12" Powerbook today with a shiny new MacBook. The lack of Firewire is a disappointment, but I can live without it. I hope for a faster processor and a lower price than what is being rumoured here, but I'll still buy a new one even if all we get is what is being mentioned in the rumours.
There is a 2.0 ghz chip in the newest batch of core 2 duos on wikipedia (I know, I know) - P7350 - Medium voltage, 25W tdp compared to 35W on the current macbook penryn chips.
I fear (as an AAPL shareholder) that this 2.0ghz rumour is spot on, and the upside will be that Apple sell a longer battery life.
Whether this is "better" in the average consumer's eyes for the price...
Why would you fear this as a shareholder? If they introduce a notebook with the 2.0 ghz chip at a $899 price point, that is going to sell like hot cakes....and Apple's stock will continue to outperform.

Well I considered selling my new macbook for a new one...
still considering it, dont know how much I'll get for a 2 month old blackbook now with these coming out though. I'd love to get my hands on a backlit macbook!

I know this is apple we are talking about..... God can work Miracles (and contrary to some people's belief - Steve is not God).
I would love to see Apple get real competative on pricing, I need a machine in my church that just does not decide to shut down in the middle of a worship service.... I have worship pastors (with limited salaries) asking about macs because of garage band, itunes, logic, etc - but they need a laptop, to take to practices. $1000 is out of the price range for a lot of them, as they have to feed their families on the limited salary they get.
Plus, with the economy in the shape it is in, people are just not going to fork over a lot of money right now....
right now, all I see is a case redesign that costs a lot of money - with no real innovative technology. sorry, my opinion.....
It's assumed that some of the side shots (the ones without the FireWire ports) are of the 13" MacBook. Of course, no one knows for sure, but I think if those pictures were real then they were the MacBook and the MacBook Pro, not just the Pro.

I hear the 9600M GT is a terrible card and it basically is a small upgrade from the 8600M... After all this time, this is the best we get on the Pro? I don't get it...

The mobile 9700GT is just another 8600 part. The first real upgrade is the 9700GTS.
A phryer (fryer) is someone who categorically dismisses all spoiler info (about future products, upcoming movies and TV shows etc) based on statements like "Suckers! It's a FAKE! Photoshopped!" and/or conspiracy theories about the company orchestrating a massive, clever disinformation campaign to throw everyone off by planting false info all over the place.
Only to find that the spoilers were actually spot on, and everything was just as simple as it seemed.
The phryers come out of the woodworks every time there's an Apple event. When the iPod Nano 4G pictures were leaked, when pictures of iPhone 3G cases were leaked, when mock-ups of MBA were posted... every time the rumors have been almost 100% correct.
Yeah, I think it's hideous too and makes the laptop look cheap BUT it's not a dealbreaker in purchasing a laptop.
