More Claims of 'iPhone 5C' Name, iPhone 5S with 'Gold' Color Option and Home Button Changes

I have a zillion friends who do "wedding photography on the side". It doesnt take much talent for that....if any at all.

I guess it depends on the types of wedding you visit and what you are used to. We in Europe see American wedding programs on TV with people getting married in places without windows and neon-lighting. In those kinds of situations a 2003 Canon Ixus and a friend with a finger and an eye would probably suffice.

You still owe us a definition of a "real" photographer. Back up your claim.

8 megapixels...still? 3 years and no advancement in whats probably one of iPhones most used features?
An f/2 aperture instead of f/2.4 is an improvement by half an f-stop and should give noticeable improvements in low light photos, like indoors and evenings. It'll also assist a bit in making photos less shaky when there is low light.

The 8 MP shouldn't change; I think no smartphones today are good enough to warrant higher resolutions. They all show smearing already at these resolutions when viewed in 1:1 and anything less than optimal photo conditions. The resolution doesn't define optical qualities; the lens does, and the small sensor makes it tougher to push ahead.

It's especially important to not improve resolution in smartphones when you don't need to since e.g. a 12 MP photo would consume 50% more disk space. 16 MP would require 100% more. These are high prices to pay if the added content is noisy or soft due to putting spec sheets and "sounding good" above what these tiny sensors are ready for today.

We should actually be grateful that Apple is conservative here when others aren't. There is probably temptation to boost the resolution before they are ready, like some competitors do. They could also do this in order to force us to buy higher capacity and more expensive iPhone tiers, or make it harder to live with the free 5 GB iCloud limit.

I guess they are going after the rich Russian businessman/mobster market. Let's hope those renderings aren't accurate, that's hideous.

The whole 5C thing is weird. They are just going to take the guts of the old phones and put them in a new case. Viola! A "new" cheaper iPhone! Kinda what it is now, but in a new case. I guess re-branding it with a new name will drive more sales.

What's hard to understand? The phone will be "new", have higher margins than the 4/4S (which consumers view as "old"), and unify the lineup to the new screen aspect ratio and lightning connector. Nothing weird about that at all. It's more strange that they've been selling old premium phones at budget prices...

The CE sign on these renderings looks more like "china export" than the real European conformity marking...the proportions just aren't right!

I'm trusting in Jony, so I just don't believe that this champaign/gold thing is real. Can't wait for the september 10 event to see that we "un-believers" are right! :D

More megapixels = BAD. Grainier picture. Tiny sensor in cellphones isn't big enough to cram more megapixels. If you do, all you get is more visual noise.

Apple has been steadily improving the camera in other ways. You can't defy the laws of physics.

Gold? No. No! Please no! Gold sucks. That would suck so badly. It's not about "if you don't like it, buy a different color". It's about how crap a color gold is. Especially for a modern phone. This is not freaking steampunk guys!

ok, so now they've covered everyone

black iphone: US, Europe, Australia
white iphone: China, Japan,
gold iphone: middle east, Russia

Africa will be somewhat in between the three;
Just not sure about south America.

Calm down guys...Who said you needed to buy a GOLD iPhone 5C or S if it came out..You could just stick to its classic colors of black and white..

Confucius, he say:
"When man run out or innovation .... Colourisation"
Yeah, it looks that way I'm afraid. Maybe golden age (pardon the pun) for Apple is truly over, or just maybe they will manage to pull the rabbit out of the hat and surprise all by announcing completely new and different to those rumored iPhones. After all, Apple has managed to surprise everyone by introducing new and totally redesigned Mac Pro and just maybe they will manage to do it again ;)

MacRumors, you should be ashamed of yourself for even POSTING this rendering. Gold is about the furthest thing possible from minimalist aesthetic that Jobs and Ive have spent the last 15 odd years honing. And the few metals they do include in their palate are highly muted, with deliberate purpose. Minimalism isn't about garishness and attracting attention; it's about the sublime beauty of elemental simplicity. A thing is beautiful because IT IS, not because you've painted it that way. The fact that you would post this on your front page is a farce. This is a blog about Apple, Inc. not Dolce and Gabbana.

Wow, calm down!

The site is called "mac Rumors". You don't have to look at the article if you don't want to.

You tell'em Teejay! I got a good laugh reading your post.

GOLD RUMOR?

Hilarious. I remember when Paris Hilton first hit the scene with her gold RAZR, or whatever they called it.

I know this site is "macrumors", but do you really need to post US WORLD "batboy" stories?

Maybe it too will have a gold color option.

At last, an iPhone to go with that hugely popular and stylish will.i.am camera.
This is one of those rumours that seems so unlikely, it could be true.
