Keep In Mind... Apple's going green.

Apple's on the "GREEN (apple) CART"

The 15" MAcBook Pro uses an LED screen to conserve energy and does away with the mercury filled fluorescent lamp. With that logic, I'll bet we'll see tweaked MacBooks, MacBook Pros, and iMacs with LED screens, the same track pad as the new "MacBook Anorexia". Not to mention we might see the same hard drive offerings as the Macbook Anorexia too (solid state drives).

Along for the ride will be the new Apple screens with an LED screen as well. Of course, that could come later.

I've noticed that every time a new product is about to hit, Apple clears out through the online store's refurbished section. The product offerings soar! Take a look in the Refurb section now. MacBooks, MacBook Pros and "limited time offering pricing" on the entire iMac lines (from the 20" to the 24" with the 2.8 Extreme).

Can't wait... sort of like Christmas. You know the presents are in the car trunk but you can't get to em till Christmas Day!

Haha.. I'm in a similar situation. My "c" key doesn't work sometimes and I just got my MBP last week. I'm going to bring it back on tuesday regardless and get the updated one if it comes out. I'm just going to have to use and external for now.

This is my second new MBP. The first one I had would wakeup from sleep, and when it did my mouse would stop working. 3rd times the charm!!

man, I have never seen anyone get so worked up and worked over in a thread here like bj3949... hilarious. Sadly the comic relief was booted.

I was waiting for his next post to be: Hey, i saw a tom cruise movie once where he just pointed to what he wanted floating in the air and the computer moved the stuff around! I bet you apple could do this if they wanted to!!!! And give it to us for $1499!

Anyway, I've had it with my pbg4 so I'm praying this MBP info is correct. I am also praying that it won't take 2-3 weeks to ship as i need one NOW!

How is that wrong? I loved the old imac. It was wayyy sexier than the current one. Plus the current one has black plastic on the back, so if plastic is wrong than so is the current one.

If the rumors are true, the white Imac had a better monitor panel than the new ones. People are complaining of bad color bands and reduced resolution.

damnit! i just brought a blackbook on friday on amazon and it's scheduled to arrive on tuesday. if they release new macbooks or the LED backlight i'm hoping for, it's going to be a long week of amazon phone conversations and trips to ups for me

I know several MB users here want an update, however the MB and MBP are very close in power and features, yet the price difference is significant.

I could be wrong, but I think Apple is going to put distance between the MB and the MBP then wait another 6 months and then upgrade MB. I do not think you will see an upgrade for MB until Aug/Sept. An upgrade now for MBP and another Sept/Oct.

All I ask is no black color keyboard on the MBP, use silver pick what ever keyboard, just not black color please.

Intel is going to be debut new mobile chips come June, with might I say some rather impressive speed bumps. Thats not to say Apple will be inclined to update their lines to include those processors right off the bat. The past month alone is enough evidence to show Apple will release updates when they are good and ready, not just when the chips starting rolling off assembly lines.

As for color choices, I can only hope they do not put a gastly black border around the display. Nothing ruins a clean line more than a tacky after thought border.

I wish - the biggest frustration with my Touch is not being able to tap something with the tip of my fingernail.

A stylus is much more accurate than a fat fingertip. Give us the option....




No, it would be Apple ignoring the ego of the CEO and giving us something that works. Just like the idiot stance of not allowing three-button mice - the "no stylus" rule from The Lord God Jobs is ignoring the requests of a number of (potential) customers.

And i wish I could dial a contact on my RAZR over bluetooth from my iPod Touch. But that won't happen for the same reason the stylus won't. Apple doesn't want those features.

Seems Apple takes its time shipping and announcing systems with the new chips. This is probably to ensure they have enough chips. I expect Mont in Agu/Set/Oct timeframe not before that. I bet most on October.

I said "Give us the option....". I didn't say remove anything from the Iphone, just add the ability to recognize point clicks.

I can be a lot faster and more accurate on the Touch screen keyboard tapping the tip of my fingernail against the keys - but stupid Apple software ignores a point contact. So, I have to push against the screen with my fingertip, and deal with the 25% error rate in what it thinks I'm pressing vs. what I think I'm pressing.

But actually, I end up never using the Touch, and tap my finger nail against my Samsung i760 Windows Mobile touch screen. I get it done faster, fewer errors, and have 3G network access. I guess not being a blind fanboi has its advantages.

There is. They are made of keratin, and are a standard part of the human finger.

Unfortunately, the Lord God Jobs had decreed that the Iphone will not respond to a fingernail tap - one of many dubious decrees from the Temple on the summit of Mount Cupertino.

I don't think its a matter of being "stupid" as you say, but more of a fact that the majority of people have embraced finger input and dismissed a stylus.

The touchscreen is engineered in such a way that is purposley uses human skin contact to trigger a response. This is a feature, not an oversight.

If the touch/iPhone is not your cup of tea then so be it.. Use your Samsung i760 and enjoy it. I don't understand why you find the need to classify those who prefer this technology as being a blind fanboi.

It's a mis-feature, IMO. The sensors clearly can tell what's going on.

If it can sense a finger touching 5 or 6 keys, and decide that I meant "k" - why can't it sense a fingernail (stylus) touch exactly on "j" and use "j"?

Especially since I did "not" intend "k", I was trying for "j" but the stupid Touch picks the key to the right of what I wanted about half the time.

Because they've got both feet firmly suck about 5 year behind. Case in point - combo drive on cheap MB and MM. Only once they've stopped shafting customers with that old p.o.s. can they move on and give their pro line ( supposedly the best platform for content creativity ) the optical drive it deserves.

So quick to attack Apple for this, yet, from the tone of your post, I assume you didn't even stop to think that the Blu-Ray tech isnt there yet for Apple's use. Apple's notebooks use ultra-thin slot loading drives. Ultra-thin slot loading Blu-Ray drives dont exist yet for mass markets.

Don't even get me started on how unbearably slow todays Blu-Ray drives are, how much more expensive they are, etc.

It's not the right time yet.

If there is a new MBP coming out, which I pray that there is, I hope it looks nothing like that. I think the keyboard on that image would be way too much like the MB keyboard and that it would totally destroy the effect of having a "Pro" notebook.

Easy, killer. When has a fan mockup ever looked like the actual product? Just Apple nuts having fun. I wouldn't necessarily want that either, but I'm positive it won't look like that anyway, regardless of my preferences.
