Hah. Arn hasn't stated why he thinks/knows that, so why believe him?
If Apple doesn't release new MBPs, I bet we'll see a bunch of outcrys flooding the forums... Until next week anyways.![]()
nvidia 9500
is that any good, i searched a little bit about it on the internet and it doesn't seem to be that much better then the 8600, would it be worth it to update the 8600 to that card or would it rather be smart that apple would put 256 mb in the lower 15" model ?
sry for my poor english
arn said:editor note: I've removed the story off the front page for now as some conflicting information has arisen. I still believe the MBP's are coming on Tuesday, but I need to reconcile some information, and have pulled the story temporarily because of it.
LMFAO - MR has posted MBP update rumors that essentialy blanket cover every Tuesday this year. Keep doing that and you eventually end up right and look like a hero.
Unfortunately, the Lord God Jobs had decreed that the Iphone will not respond to a fingernail tap - one of many dubious decrees from the Temple on the summit of Mount Cupertino.
No matter how much I would like for the items being sent to the apple stores to be MBP all logical thoughts point to the time capsule...it is the only Apple item that is set to ship in February and this is the last week. Sigh I hope i'm wrong.
I was prompted to wait until the end of the week and then come back to buy the new MacBook Pro.
I then asked if they would be removing the discount on the new MacBook Pro coming out this week like they did on the Airbook and he said "no, they will be eligible for the 10% discount like the old MacBook Pro's." At that point he got really quite and then said "if you have any more questions feel free to ask" and walked away abruptly.
The 9500 produce less heat and uses less power.. it got a 32bit shader, and the 9600 got the 64bit shader- so if "macbookpro" whants to be smart, it will use the 64bits 9600. a nice gpu
same with 9500 , its only uses 256 of ram , and the 9600 512![]()
Apple needs to come out with replacements to the Mac Mini (i.e., not new Mac Minis) that meet what people want.
It's not about expansion, apart from HD and RAM access. It's about being decent enough as a baseline product.
Well, I really hope you're not making that up.
Hello, Brand new to this forum and to Mac's. I went shopping at a local Best Buy today and wanted to purchase a new laptop before leaving the store. I was prompted to wait until the end of the week and then come back to buy the new MacBook Pro. (I did not hear that from them). I thanked them for the heads up and said I'd see them in a few days. Then, I visited the local Apple store and picked the brain of an employee. He refused to even acknowledge the release of the new model when I asked about it. After a few more questions I asked him about student discounts on the Airbook and he said that they do not offer the discount on new product lines.
I've been holding off as long as possible for a new PC to see how the Vista updates faired, but when I went through the MacBook user guide I was simply dumbfounded and fell in love. The Vaio (SV (?)) was my top choice before this since they are very similar technology wise (IIRC). Now I'm REALLY excited for this new MacBook to come out and crossing my fingers that my DELL doesn't stop working before it's released (and even tonight for that matter).
Hopefully we'll see an AirPort Express update soon. Haven't been able to find them locally for a few weeks here in Austin. AppleTV isn't really a replacement since it doesn't do WDS. 802.11n maybe?
You want to know my big fear?
Well I'll tell ya anyway, that they will release a new MBP, but they will have incorporated some nasty design feature from the MB, like that horrible keyboard, and it'll turn the MBP into a dog .... and then I won't be able to get my hands on an old design. Jez talk about the horns of a dilemma!

I really like the MB keyboard alot better than the MBP (i've owned both computers).
According to the buyer's guide the MBP hasn't been updated in over 260 days, but the iMac and Mini aren't that far behind at over 200 days each. The iMac, for example, has yet to see a single refresh since the introduction of the new design. Obviously a simple spec upgrade is a strong possibility.
