More New Apple Products... This Tuesday?

hi guys,

for weeks the apple education store in my university give extra discount

on MB (which is more than the original education discount), obviously this hinted

a new MB should not be far away from release

Why no Multi-Touch Screen on new MBP?

Will someone please tell me why Apple won't do this? Why are they keeping the Multi-Touch strictly to the keypad?

Two reasons, I think:

1. They haven't built the controllers yet. The multi-touch trackpads are about the same size as an iPhone touchscreen and use an iPhone touchscreen controller. It's a cheap utilization of existing technology.

2. The ergonomics of a trackpad, better suit a conventional clamshell laptop design. Multi-touch screen is better reserved for a tablet device.

500gb 10000 rpm (which would burn it up but i can dream)
case redesign w/mag latch
multitouch trackpad - larger than mba
3/4" thick

what we will end up getting:

15" macbook pro 1680x1050 screen
2.6ghz penryn
2gb min ram
geforce go 9500/9600 (i really think there will be a video card bump)
no blu-ray yet
320gb 5400rpm 250gb 7200rpm
multitouch trackpad
0.9" thick

All that sounds very likely and exciting, and I agree with it; I'm just saying that we should also have the option to touch the actual screen if we wanted to.

For crying out loud!!! Would you please just touch your screen already. Really...it's OK..."they" said you can do it. It just became a new hidden feature. You can "touch the screen" if you want to.

Trust me though, porn isn't going to feel any more real than it already is. Unless of course you can now get VD through HD.

The new MBP will be my first ever Mac. I have finally decided to do it. But I want it for the end of the year. As a treat for lasting out at Uni. Meanwhile, I am very much enjoying my ASUS eeePC and am touch typing on it now. It has taken away my desire for an iphone, and MBA at the same time.

I just hope by the time I get the MBP, it will have been updated at least once from the big release expected soon.

so? those models have been out for 4 months. How long do really think apple should wait between revisions? as long as the MBP for every product? That would really piss a lot of people off!
