When you try to search by serial number on Apple's website you get nada, but when you search by serial number for warranty status you can see it was purchased on the 22nd, coinciding with what you say. If foulmouthedleon did get a 2 gig shuffle early that's pretty darn cool (and worthy of proof IMHO). :)

I think /A means that there is different guts. I doubt the case will change much. They didnt change it for intel, why would they change it for a new mobo/cpu.
 
This just does it if they update the macbook ill be very :mad:
Why wouldnt apple want to update mbp for the people who want to spend over 1999 on a laptop...
Its kinda stupid if they update the macbook when they just had a update...
 
Blu-Ray

Could the MBP be waiting for Blu-Ray, it could well be argued that this is the format of the future, but only in the past few weeks. How long would it take from a decision to be made to having it installed in a standard set up MBP? Or would it be only BTO so that if it doesn't prove the future proof format it is kind of your fault for choosing it?

how bout they update the 2 together?

think about it, when mb was updated in nov, mbp wasnt Completely neglected, got a slight bto hd/prc bump.

and if apple apple consider this as 2 refreshes, 2 updates tomorrow :D

they could redesign em both mba-stlyey, which would stop there being an odd one out in the lineup, say if they only updated/redesigned mbp.

WHATS MORE, if apple released time capsule tmrw (almost certain), which will attract alot of notebook customers, with a bit of sneaky advertising, they'll ship like hotcakes

just an idea :D

Because they HAVE to. I am sooo sick of that aluminum case. Do you realize it hasn't changed since they had a 1ghz G4 in it???? Now that is OLD.

I don't care if you like it. I hate it. :rolleyes:

Wow, I still consider it the slickest looking case around for its size. Do you object to its simplicity or the fact that it's aluminum? I really don't see them changing the latter, and any changes they do make probably won't affect the former either. The most you're likely to see is coloration through anodization, if that.

It may seem like a "cover-your-ass" but there's a reason the original story ("MacBook Pros on Tuesday") was rewritten to "New Apple Products on Tuesday".

This is that reason. Besides, predicting MacBook updates is so not a cover-your-ass story, as it's an entirely illogical update. It makes no sense. If I wanted to cover-my-ass and pick another likely possibility, MacBook updates would be at the bottom of the list.

I was over on macmall, and they are already listing "new" Macbook pro's on their website that I could swear were no listed earlier today.

I'd be fine with a bit of zippy coloured anodization! I love my little Pea Green Shuffle! I already had a silver one but the green was so cute I had to have one! No worries, I have different things on each one and use them both.
I just want a black anodized aluminium MacBook Pro!

the main reason why they kept the aluminum, is mostly because it is high recyclable, it's "cold", so very efficient with the heat, and with few "thermal enlargements". basically there are few dilates. and we all know apple have LOTS of heat probs. i can guarantee you that they'll stick with aluminum... ;)

My first thought when reading the original post was that person might be a little drunk and melodramatic, or that it was probably just an aspiring writer playing with words. Whatever the case, it was an inspired paragraph and I got a kick out of it.

I've been posting in MR for a week now as I'm waiting for the Mbp update aswell. Till now my predictions worked fine.

As I've been saying in other posts, the BestBuy part numbers are not about Time Capsule. For 2 reasons:

1) The price don't match.
2) Time Capsule has been announced. We are just waiting them for ship. But tuesday is not about announce shipments but new products. Besides, the Time Capsule shipment is, in most cases, expected to the 29th February as we can read here: http://www.tuaw.com/2008/02/25/time-capsule-in-this-weeks-best-buy-flyer/


The Bestbuy part numbers are also not about the Macbooks. For 3 reasons:

1) The price don't match.
2) Macbook was updated in November. Mbp wasn't.
3) If Apple meant to update the Macbook tomorrow, it would update with a penryn processor and a multitouch trackpad. Can you imagine the Macbooks having a better processor and technologies than the Pro's machines? Me neither...

Tomorrow is about MBP!

When Apple realized the Mba, it choosed a certain logic of design: thinner, multitouch trackpad, black backlight keyboard,... Whether you like it or not...

This logic will likely be followed by the next Apple products such as the Mbp.

This way Apple will be shared whitin 2 destingued logical designs: the design for most of consumers (Macbooks) and the design for the Pro's (MBA and MBP).

I mean I guess, since MBA was meant to be a travel-machine, it was meant to be for the Pro's and that's why it has the aluminium case and that's why I rather that the MBA has already the futur logic Pro design in it.
 
Might as well throw out another one then......

I think it's a RealDoll version of Steve Jobs with 3 different ... sizes :eek:
