More New Apple Products... This Tuesday?

See Clive, the humor isn't in someone being raped. That is wrong. I don't wish that upon anyone. The humor is STEVE JOBS raping YOU. See, that's the only way I could imagine that results in the vitriol you spew at apple inc.

I think the Kindle sucks. So you know what I do? I don't buy one. I don't go on amazon forums constantly talking about how much it sucks and how much the suckers who buy it are getting ripped off. How the technology could be updated, etc etc.

Of course not all products will be perfect. There's room for improvement in every single product ever made. But what I don't understand is why you insist on pissing on everyone's parade. Apple isn't ripping off the consumer. They build products. If it doesn't work for you, then you don't purchase it. It's not like Apple is selling water at $100/gal in New Orleans post Katrina. What part of market forces do you not understand?

Apple makes product that appeals to consumers = sales
Apple makes product that doesn't appeal to consumers = no/less sales

You're the type of consumer NO ONE cares about. You're unhappy about everything. If apple made a mbp that weighed 3lbs, with 10 usb ports, 2TB hard drive with 8 core processor that also air conditioned your room, you'd be upset that it wasn't 3TB of hard drive space. There's a big difference in being critical and being just an unreasonable person who wants way too much.

"I don't understand why Toyota doesn't make a Camry with 500 hp. Clearly there are 500 hp engines out there! And 80 mpg! Damn greedy Toyota!"

MB and MBP will BOTH be updated

Most logical scenario is that we will see an update for both laptop lines.

Well, MB already has the magnetic latch and the new keyboard (I know a lot of people prefer the old one but Apple obviously sees the new one as the 'better'). When the MB was first announced I was 100% sure it would only be a matter of weeks till the next revision of MBP with these new features would be introduced. It was just too obvious. This was 2 years ago.

Just to let everyone know about the exchange policy..

I have talked with Apple about the fact that i just recently bought the MacBook pro this past friday and i was wondering, if they are the same price, if i could exchange for the newer mbp thats coming tomorrow.

THey said that its up to the individual store to do that. So i have to find out from teh store itself whether or not i get a new macbook pro. I see no reason why not since they look to be priced the same.

So call your local apple stores if your in the same situation as me.

I know some places charge like a 10-15% restock fee

You know.. i try so hard not to get my hopes up (especially since they have been let down so many times since Macworld), but you know what? I keep curiously checking these rumor sites and my hopes do come back up... and then the third update in the story comes, and my hopes fall... please please please be the MBP tomorrow... i just don't think I can take this any more. I have a feeling if they wait too much longer society as we know it is going to have a breakdown (or maybe just me :rolleyes:) but seriously apple, please make your pro users happy... MB users don't need another update yet, WE DO! Argh.. anybody got some pepto? I think i'm gonna be sick! :(

well...first of all, i think we all need to calm down a little bit, including myself.
after all, its just a computer!

and yes, im waiting for a new (and my first) mbp as well.

you've got to see it that way:

there was supposed to be an apple event late february. (iPhone SDK...)
its probably postponed till mid-march.

IF the bring out a new mbp tomorrow, the update wont be that much. (maybe trackpad, black keyboard, penryn...but nothing big --> no new case design.

if apple waits until the event, the update is probably gonna be bigger --> NEW case design.

think about it that way.


i want them as bad as you do. but if we all have high expectations, we'll probably be even more disappointed.

Wow. All I can say is wow. Since when did making a profit become taboo? They're not taking advantage of the customers. If the customers want to buy the products, they can. If not, nobody's forcing them to.

If this "old overpriced hardware" is really that overpriced, then.....

WHY ARE PEOPLE BUYING IT!?!?!?!?!?! Hmm? Because they want to buy it! So stop pretending you're some sort of great crusader or something! There's no point in crusading against making decisions based on the heart instead of how much the PC vendors are selling the product components for! PC vendors should not determine the worth of a product. They must not be selling it for enough if Apple is basically making the same thing 50% more expensive with a slight increase in build quality and an Apple badge. Maybe, the PC vendors should get a clue....

I'm jealous that people can get a 3K Macbook Pro, then when a new one is supposed to be released (6-7 months), they have enough money to be able to ditch that 3K notebook, then spend another 3K for another notebook that isn't updated that much [obviously the next update's not going to include SLi or Quad Core] (or maybe they wait until the next update which is another 6-7 months...still not that much of time) [so send me your old MBP XD jk...unless you aren't]

And is the multi-touch pad that useful? I played around with an Air at the Apple store...I didn't think that I'd be using it...like at all.
