Its surprising to me that Apple have managed to keep the lid on all the feature and form factor upgrades on this one.
Again, I have to have the same old bulky MBP with some minor updates like a multi-touch keypad. We deserve more for waiting this long.
How is it not practical or functional? The multi-touch keypad should DEFINITELY stay, but I'm just saying that the multi-touch screen should be there as an option. AS a user, you should be able to turn Multi-Touch screen ON/OFF as you choose. I just want the option to touch a bookmark in my Safari bookmark bar or touch a link on CNN.com or touch an app icon in the dock if I wanted to. Like iPhone heaven. That's all I'm saying. Wouldn't you?
I don't know what you consider "bulky" lol. Are you serious???![]()
I'm not saying that there is a smaller and lighter pro laptop then MBP; I'm just saying that Apple is way overdue on completely revising the MBP and introducing the All-New MacBook Pro. And, when they do, they should definitely include a screen that gives you the option to multi-touch if you wanted to.
Actually I try and make a habit of touching my screen as little as possible, so no.
Then why did you buy the iPhone?
You Multi-Touch screen people really aren't keen on how Apple is implementing Multi-Touch are you??? That will be in the Newton. The laptops and desktops will ditch the keyboard and have that patent Multi-Touch surface we just saw. But that won't be for a couple years after they all get the MacBook Air style trackpads to ease us into it.
hmm, not quite sure about this: why would companies update their products if they already work fine?
e.g nano G1, it was fine, why couldnt they have just re-done the internals (more storage/battery)
the white iMac, what was wrong with that?
To look cool in public, albeit being laughed at by blackberry owners.
Then why did you buy the iPhone?
Because about 4 years ago I sold my soul to apple. Oh, and because its not a laptop, so I don't mind touching its screen. Can you imagine how obnoxious it would be to be typing on the keyboard and then have to reach up and point at the screen and then rest your hands back on the keyboard. Nope. Not for me. But sure, compare it to an iPhone all you want.
I just returned my MB Air because I just couldn't make the space available on the hard drive work for me.
So, I was going to go out this weekend to buy a black Mac Book. A good friend of mine closely connected told me to wait until Tuesday. So, I'm guessing that it is an MB update on Tuesday that will be announced.
