Sure, but like I said. Apple is NOT implementing Multi-Touch that way. The touch screen will be in the new Newton. The laptops and desktops will ditch the keyboard and have a full Multi-Touch surface NOT on the screen, and this is after they ease us in with the MacBook Air style track pads in about 2 years when 10.6 comes out and they have it fully implemented into the OS. Look at the freaking signs people, can't you see their strategy???
pretty nice, are we assuming there is a thin layer of glass covering the glossy screen....
...if so, pro's wont like this!
I love that everyone keep suggesting that it is just the time capsule even though arn already said it was clearly not that.
I'm pro MB style keyboard, mag-latch
That is freakin' pretty! but I'd want the normal speakers on the side of the keyboard.

Forget the MBPs, I want a new mac mini. Plus the longer they drag it out the more entertaining it is on the boards![]()
All that sounds very likely and exciting, and I agree with it; I'm just saying that we should also have the option to touch the actual screen if we wanted to.
The way you give your iPhone a quick wipe down, you'd do that to your laptop.
Big deal. What Apple should really invent is a screen that defrosts or defogs
This way we can touch all we want!!

when it comes to a multi-touch screen i think that apple will come out with a tablet style computer with a swivel screen and an optional use stylus. However I don't think it will come out for another 2 or 3 years.
Well Apple thought it was good enough for the freakin' expensive MacBook Air, so I guess we will see.If there is a new MBP coming out, which I pray that there is, I hope it looks nothing like that. I think the keyboard on that image would be way too much like the MB keyboard and that it would totally destroy the effect of having a "Pro" notebook.

Actually I try and make a habit of touching my screen as little as possible, so no.
My guess is the iPhone SDK. Apple even announced it would be released at the end of Feb, and the reports that it is delayed aren't necessarily credible.
Thats an insane comment. After Steve publicly put the stylus in the coffin at the introduction of the iPhone by stating "bleck... who wants to use a stylus", you think they are going to introduce an advanced device that uses a stylus?
Multi-touch is the way of the future.... Multi-TOUCH... the stylus is dead.
errr no, the iPhone SDK will be a download for developers, you probably won't even hear about it unless you have an ADC account.
Getting a bit hostile and defensive aren't we? People need to chill out! Also, what's with so many postings containing your same viewpoint?? We get it... you want to touch your screen, so touch it... touch it all you want! It just won't do anything, but you can touch your screen as much as your heart desires...
Umm... when you touch something it doesn't fog up, it gets smudges from the oil your skin glads produce (unless you are one of the few % who don't leave finger prints because you don't produce said oil... lucky you), so defogging a screen would be dumb... i hear when they release the new notebook with touch screen it will come with a monkey housed inside (all squished up because it's going to be a teeny-tiny computer) with a squeegee so that any time there is a smudge on your screen it will come out and clean it for you! Wow that would be a swell computer wouldn't it? Come on steve please make that one next...![]()
I mean it's thick and old. Apple can definitely thin the thing out by now and make it lighter and it's time that they did. It's a great machine, but it's way overdue for a serious revision. And, Apple must be able to execute this by now.
That's all I'm saying.
Why don't you keep your MBP and I'll by the new and I'll buy the new & improved one?
Here we go again lol.
Um, Time Capsule. Due data "February".
Wouldn't that be one product that could logically be expected to be out this coming week.
It's not jazzy or sexy -- but then again anything jazzy or sexy would have premiered at Macworld.
Just my .02
One of my biggest pet peeves is when people get finger prints on my screen![]()
