i wouldnt doubt that apple has something coming in the next month or so to compliment the macbooks...

Yes, but what? Just 12" and 17" models? I'm seriously considering waiting for the second revision of the MacBook Pro line to come out. I'd love to have a 2.0Ghz MacBook Pro to show off to my friends.

Perhaps this is a moot point at this stage, but I'd really like Apple to come up with a bluetooth Mighty Mouse.

BTW, Adobe and Office are the only things I really need my computer for, so I, personally, would wait to upgrade until those are avaliable (an exception being if my current system dies or becomes unusable). Faster systems (or even a totally a redesigned laptop) may be out by the time those products go native x86. At the very least I'd wait for Rosetta benchmarks to see how those applications do under emulation, so we replace the "4x faster" claim with real-world usage.

AMEN! I've been holding off on a powerbook for a while now. My initial response to the new macbook was elation. But after letting the thoughts settle, I realized it doesn't do me any good. Until I can run CS natively on the computer, it doesn't matter how fast it is. I'll probably hold off on a new notebook until CS is running natively and the kinks have all been worked out.

Now what I might do is get either a mini or an iMac in the meantime to hold me over.

"really cool"

to me that means light and thin. didn't Apple hire Sony Laptop engineers some time ago. they certainly didn't work on thr Macbook..... hopefully they've made the iBooks as thin as the new Sony's.

Personally, the whole "plasma TV/media center/wonder computer" thing doesn't do it for me at all. Laptops are the only thing I care about, and the blog said "I would wait to buy a MacBook". To me, this implies another round of laptops better in either features or price (I'm hoping for the latter).

Regards,
Gus

Same here, I WANT A LAPTOP. Changed my mind on a MacBook Pro yesterday thinking, i really want a new design in a laptop, and apple has always upgraded to something i want more or better soon after i order. So, my idea is a MacBook Turbo, a macbook pro, without the isight, and a tablet, etc. etc. something cool. Im thinking next tuesday, even though that is really soon. If you remember, in the middle of the stevenote, he said while he was making the sample podcast, ill see u again next tuesday. hope so. and imediate shipping.

come ON, guys! next I'm gonna hear that Steve coughed twice to signify that there would soon be a release twice as impressive as what he was announcing at MWSF. the idea was to make a weekly podcast, so next Tuesday when the next release of the podcast comes out he'll see his listeners again.

I didn't think he'd make the mistake of demoing photoshop again. it always takes so long to boot that it's not exactly an impressive demo of Rosetta. but no, here's Photoshop, let's see how well Rosetta works... 5 minutes later...

Any chance you could post a comprehensible version of that?

Here it is...

Why would you want to run Windows on a Mac?

I can understand trying to get a PC to run OSX.

With Core Duo chips though?... Perhaps...

This rumour makes sense. It's slightly ironic (only slightly) that Steve is once again waiting for the CPU maker.

Yeah, its worth pointing out that even though IBM is sort of up against a wall, most of the industry is as well. Intel has enough money to break through, I think, so this move should pay in the long run.

guys... i found that on the apple store by entering all kind of stuff at the url, but when i posted the link here, the site was already gone. Luckily, the window was still open and i was able to make this screenshot. Dunno how to upload it in big, so just look at my avatar. Hope they announce this thing soon.

How? it takes 500 posts to get an Avatar:confused:

Edit: Sorry, I just saw that you had realized this yourself as I was writing. Welcome to MR

thats what i thought but i have had a bad history with apple releasing stuff, me buying it, and a week later making it better and something i want more.

ok, i found a way to show you what i found when sniffing around at apple store entering possible names in the url:
image.php

The things appearing on the apple store by accident are released soon after, right? I think i'd buy that thing ^^

media center MiniMac

It might be a media center MiniMac. :D Except why would apple put the core duo and not the single core processor in the MiniMac. Though it would be great to have a cheap MiniMac with a 2 ghz core duo, a 128 mb graphics card, 160 gb HD with Front Row. ;)

Could we get a description of what you have seen, or what you have typed in the Apple Store? Because the description is kinda mysterious ;-)

That's the next gen iPod or iPhone!!

i can mail you the original screenshot i made. Just pm me. The url i found it on was http://www.apple.com/ipod/ipod6g.html. Unfortunetely it's gone now, but maybe o can find it again elsewhere. Sometimes google finds these kind of pics on the apple site they were there only for a brief time.

Now to describe what it is: According ti the url, this is/will be the 6g ipod. The screen fills the whole unit now, and the clickwheel is displayed on it. I suppose it's some kind of touch-screen. In the middle you can also see a movie icon (same as in front row) and the mail icon. On the left is the same unit put in horizontal showing a pic of an iPod ad with the little "play" triangle on the lower left on the screen.

Hum... maybe true, or not. The thing that strikes me is the presence of the "Gorillaz" cover. After each iPod launching a group was choosen to be on the iPod Page ( U2, Black Eye Peas etc...) and the cover to be on one of these iPods, I can't believe Apple will re-take the Gorillaz for their new iPod.I would tend to say Apple would have taken the Pussycat Dolls (first Vingle) if this picture is not fake...
The iMovie icon doesn't make much sense : are we able to do video cutting directly on the iPod? Sounds a little bit to overkill ;-) to be true

I had these thoughts too. I guess they may have made that pic some time ago, maybe even before releasing the 5g iPod we have now.
