I like the way they've used a overlay for the screen on the video, trying to make the screen look sharper and faster than it probably is.

I agree. Motorola is full of lies! All lies!

Apple has never done anything like that on their commercials

If I do get one then I hope there is an option to photograph the back of my wrist skin and use that as a wallpaper so it looks like I have an INVISIBLE WRIST!!

Oh wait, not an invisible wrist, an INVISIBLE WATCH!

Yeh, emperor's new watch, and when people say 'what is it?' I push an invisible button on what looks like my wrist skin, and Flappy Bird appears.

Also, I could pretend to have a trendy tattoo on my wrist, but actually it is a photograph of a trendy tattoo superimposed over the photo of my wrist.

Also, the portable doctor app could overlay things onto my wrist skin, as if I can see into my own blood veins. And little icons for Vitamins, and Bloody Glucose levels, and Leprosy could scroll past to show me my current state of well being.

Like notifications, but actually look like they are flowing through my wrist veins.

If I can tap the icons to cure the ailments then even better.

No GPS puts the Moto 360 the toywatch category.

This watch is a backstep from their groundbreaking MOTOACTV years ago.

It looks nice, but seems a tad too large, from viewing the video, for my preference. I still have a feeling that Apple is going to blow us away with their iWatch...

At this stage, it probably is one of the more efficient models on the market. So it's intriguing, but we;ll see what Apple has up its sleeve, though it wouldn't surprise me to see the iWatch released in 2015.

It certainly won't be released in 2014. If it was, we would have seen part leaks by now. But I bet they'll announce it on Tuesday.

If it could do all of that by itself (standalone) I'd be all over it. I would order it RIGHT NOW. Cheap chinese GSM wrist phones have been out for years, including running Android.

If I have to carry a damn phone around anyway to make it work, I have zero interest in having to cart around another doodad in my already overloaded life.

Hopefully Apple has a clue and put a GSM radio in their version. If not, oh well, whatever.

What kind of battery life do you think that would get. GSM radio would suck that tiny battery dry in no time.

A bit too big for my wrist, or most peoples i'd guess. It looks nice but could just do with being a touch smaller.

So, in the future when considering which watch to buy, it really just comes down to which clock-face to download in the App Store. Timex 2,99 USD, Tag Heuer 9,99 USD, Rolex 99,99 USD. :)

I agree, but until the tech is available to make a good totally standalone product, I just don't see a smart watch being anything more than a niche accessory, rather than a must have. Sure Apple will sell a bunch initially, because of their name - but why would it be a mainstream product ?

Totally agree. I really thought Moto was going places back then. But they fizzled.

Great, another piece of technology to shackle your life to! I have the best already (for me), and that is the iPhone 5. It's a great piece of work, and I do keep it charged, though this "shackling", to me, is worth the cost.
I also have the best (again, for me) watch. A Citizen Eco-Drive that never needs a new battery (at least not for years).
But I do wish Apple the best if it goes that route as I love people who buy anything with the Apple logo, regardless of its functionality!

I'm loving the design. Motorola is very good at designing products (better than Samsung IMO). What is keeping down watches is battery life. Unless there is a big breakthrough in battery tech by Apple or they find a way to charge it when you walk... Then any watch will only last a little bit (day or two). There is no way to put a GPS or LTE on a smart watch unless Apple does something actually "magical". Can't wait to see what Apple will be offering next week!

I'm starting to see the point of a smartwatch, especially for maps directions, though this one looks pretty huge. I think a device like this should be smaller.

And can't they find a better name for "pedometer"? It always makes me think it measures how much of a pedo you are.

If the bands are interchangeable it's a "swatch" not a "watch".

Anyone else here remember the "swatch" era?

Just hoping Siri works as well as google voice. Siri has gotten better, but not good enough yet.

For what it does, at the size it is, it is pretty incredible!
Theres this great new elastic band powered car, it can drive all the way to the end of the street - it's incredible, but I won't be buying one, either...

Looks great, definitely the best looking smartwatch in the market. The problem is that they all are gimmicks so it's a no buy for me

I'm with you on this. Really hope the iWatch at least offers some mind-blowing point of differentiation to incentivize me to buy one. But at the rumored $400, this will be a VERY tough sell for me at least. Tuesday should be interesting!

this is hilarious. Clearly people want a product which may or may not be unveiled Tuesday because it's a regular watch which does some other stuff. Cognitive dissonance at its best..

C'mon surely you get hate better than that. Give us some more examples of whats wrong with it

well LOOK at that plastic band. it looks like a watch you can find for 2€ at Primark next to the checkout counter (minus the feature on the watch itself obvs) and the watch looks too huge for that slim band

Truly a timely test of self control if there ever was one. Not to be against the 360, but the only rational behaviour right now as I see it is to wait until Apple shows their magic.

That thing is beautiful but damn I'd kick myself if I bought one.

though this one looks pretty huge. I think a device like this should be smaller.

Careful, that's how mobile phones started. Technology meant they started big and got smaller and smaller because that's what people wanted, then everything reversed because idiots thought they needed massive screens.

Smart watches will get smaller and then Samsung will release a ridiculous 4" round watch in 2024 so all the Android people can continue to look like idiots.
