strangely how you have blinders on......i edited to show this year as well. Then the iPhone 6s WAS within the last 4 years! So now....do you have the same critique for Apple?

Do they look the same on the back as well?

Lol, I see your sticking to only the front ;).

I have blinders?
You just compared the iPhone 5s to the 6 plus claiming thy looked identical.

Not much of a point there.

Care to post the last 4 years of iPhones?

Because that’s what I did with the galaxy note.
Completely dated design.

Galaxy note 5 -galaxy note 9

Again care to post
The iPhone 6s to iPhone Xsplus?

Don’t think you would, because it would kind of disapprove your ridiculous assertion.
What have i asserted?

you are the one saying the Samsung phones haven;t changed over the years.
I have showed you evidence of Apple doing EXACTLY THE SAME THING and you have nothing to say but deflect.

Again...why don't you post the same critique for Apple phones as you did for the Samsung phones. Do they all look pretty much the same?
Yes they do.....

You claimed the 6s plus looked identical to the the 5s and now your backtracking and m only posing photos of the iPhone on the front with the home screen.

Are you claiming these don’t look identical?
Or are you deflecting again.

Even the s series recycled the same designs as the note or is it the other way round?

Motorola's latest P30 smartphone is making headlines this week, but not for an impressive feature set or a unique design. As it turns out, Motorola has opted to copy the design of the iPhone X, resulting in an Android smartphone that's nearly identical to Apple's flagship device.

The P30, which features a 6.2-inch display, is by far the most iPhone X-like Android smartphone that we've seen yet, with a frontal design that includes rounded corners, a notch that's similar to the iPhone X notch in size and shape, and an edge-to-edge design. There's a small bezel at the bottom, which is the only feature that distinguishes the P30 from the iPhone X.

At the back, the P30 features a dual-lens camera setup in a vertical orientation much like the iPhone X, and it replaces the Apple logo with a Motorola logo that doubles as a fingerprint sensor. The colorful metallic body of the device is reminiscent of the Huawei P20, making the rear of the smartphone look like a P20/iPhone X hybrid.

Black and white versions look a little more like the iPhone X, and Motorola has even been marketing the device with iPhone-style wallpapers.

Motorola's P30 is available in China and isn't being distributed in the United States just yet, and while it has an iPhone X-style design, it is positioned as a mid-range device that's more affordable, perhaps attempting to lure customers who want the iPhone X look but aren't able to shell out $1,000.

Inside the Motorola P30, there's a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chip, 6GB RAM, 128GB of storage, and a 3,000mAh battery. The two rear cameras feature 5 and 16-megapixel sensors while there's a 12-megapixel front-facing camera. Despite the notch, there's no front-facing facial recognition system.

As The Verge humorously pointed out, the P30 looks so similar to the iPhone X that when doing a Google image search based on the P30, Google guesses that it's an iPhone X.

Since the iPhone X launched last November, many Android smartphone makers have adopted the notched design to allow for maximum screen space to compete with the iPhone lineup. Smartphones from manufacturers that include LG, Leagoo, Huawei, OnePlus, Asus, Vivo, Oppo, and others have adopted the notch design. Even Google is set to copy the iPhone X's notch with the upcoming Google Pixel 3 XL, based on leaked images.

Apple is planning to unveil three additional smartphones that use the notch design introduced with the iPhone X, and we're just a few weeks away from their debut. Based on rumors, we can count on a second-generation 5.8-inch iPhone X with an OLED display, a larger-screened 6.5-inch OLED iPhone that can be thought of as an "iPhone X Plus," and a 6.1-inch device with an LCD display and a lower price tag.

All three will feature an edge-to-edge display with a notch that houses a TrueDepth camera system, doing away with the Home button in the iPhone lineup. Apple is expected to introduce the new 2018 iPhone lineup right around the second week of September, perhaps on September 11 or September 12.

[doublepost=1534692766][/doublepost]I expected more of Motorola. To copy the iPhone 1:1 is the weakest character I have ever seen in a competitor.
How weak or non-creative one must be to do this? Don't they have any phantasy or creativity left of their own?
This is unbelievable poor minded Bull... How disappointing ... I just can't believe that.

My post was aimed at the person that was criticizing Samsung phones saying they all look the same.
I was pointing out that Apple phones do too.

Then really who cares? There is only so much you can do to the shape of a smartphone.......

But their phone has a chin. Move that to the top and you put the cameras in there and no cutout. Lazy design.
Would you also called a top bezel (with the height of the current notch) that was full-width (and naturally containing the same components) and that would have there despite the thin chin as serving no real purpose and a lazy design? Because relatively thin top and bottom bezels (with things like proximity sensor, camera and loudspeaker in the top bezel) has been the standard design in a lot of Android phones over the last couple of years.

Or are just aesthetically offended by any non-full-width top bezel, with only Apple getting a little bit of a pass because their notch symbolises their advanced face-recognition features?

I've always wondered, with these kinds of names: what does P30 mean? Is this the thirtieth generation? What does the P mean?

As if copying the phone wasn't enough... I think they copied the wallpaper too...
If I'm not mistaken, they took apple's wallpaper and did some minor changes to make it not too obvious, but it is still obvious.

Folks, you can argue ad nauseam, but let's all face it: the Lenovo Motorola P30 copies the design of the iPhone X almost TOO perfectly. I'm not even sure if they could sell it outside China, given Apple's multiple patents on the iPhone X design.

Think he was replying to your post where you claim Apple copied Samsung with notch.

Your assertion was rather ridiculous.

Exactly. Then he moved the goal post to the notch being ridiculous design.

Sigh. His assertion wasn't even ridiculous, it was simply dumb and stupid.

And after so many years people still don't understand the difference between Innovation and Invention. They just don't learn.

Apple and rest of the world - design followers :) Motorola responsible for the gorgeous design of one of the most recognized phone called Razor now is a copycat under chinese management Lenovo. They ruined Thinkpads and now Motorola. Do they really think that world need a second iPhone X? How do they want to compete with Apple if they do not have original design? Now Apple should back to iPhone SE design and whole industry follow this design in next year :) Then Xiaomi will release Xiaomi Mi SE hahah. Next ban on all these chinese crapphones with all data stored on servers of chinese government.

Multitouch was invented in the 80s by Bill Buxton. Jobs said Apple invented. He lied, and Apple consumers believed him.
You can invent a wheel but using it as tire is a different thing. Apple with Fingerworks patented a new algorithm and sadly companies like Elan, Synaptics and Alps together with all OEMs and Microsoft still have a problem to make it right like in Macbooks.

No, the original poster is talking about when having won WWII America and Russia (an ally) went about offering deals to German and Nazi scientists in return for their work both past and future. These people and their families where relocated in which ever other county they went to thus escaping the Nuremberg Trials. Just Google "Operation Paperclip" for whatever you have misunderstood.

If there is a demand for an iPhone clone design in China, then I don't see an issue. Just maybe China govt is partly to blame. iOS might be too restrictive, especially since Apple had to ban non-regulated VPN apps from the app store in China. With Android, users can just sideload any app.

They probably can’t but even so I doubt they care. China is a big place. Plenty of customers and money to be made so job done.

Even if we ignore the copied notch, what about that wallpaper?!?! Apple should ditch it ASAP and let them use last year’s design.

I really don’t understand why they do it. All of these Chinese companies already make great products. There really is no need to copy Apple’s style. It cheapens their product more than anything.

The American Motorola would’ve never done something like this.

It's Motorola only in name. It's a Chinese company now. I am only seeing Chinese companies copying the notch so I am not surprised as Chinese companies always copy. Google seems to be obsessed with Apple so the Pixel is also a follower. The only company on Android which has a headphone jack and no notch and trying to differentiate is Samsung.

Not worth pointing out facts to some as they will just argue.

There are phones with no notch and no chin out there but for some reason they can’t be classed as edge to edge as there can only be one edge to edge phone on the market.

The only edge to edge phone on the market has a lower screen to body ratio than those that don’t qualify as edge to edge.

But whatever.

For what’s its worth I think the iPhone X and the note 9 are nice looking phones and both are moving in the direction of being bezeless. They just do it in different ways.
There is no real edge to edge phone on the market. Until you can see nothing but the screen on the front and zero bezels no phone would classify as edge to edge including iPhone X.
