Motorola - once they were Kings!

Now, the just want to sell to the Chinese!

Every company, society, civilization rises and falls it is cyclical in nature. The question is the duration. Apple knows that the iPhone has reached market peak and saturation, what else can you really do with a rectangular piece of glass and metal. Make it bend, fold, etc. This is the reason Apple staggers/prolongs technology implementation. Basically their milk technology as long as they can. Apple calls it refining and bling followers eat it up. Ask yourself how long did Qi take to incorporate into the iPhone, since their claim to be waiting for refinements, why not include the faster 15W Qi charging standard vice using the slower standard.

Hence Apple is diversifying into services, AR/VR, automotive, etc. Their are trying to sustain or boost the momentum.

I have blinders?
You just compared the iPhone 5s to the 6 plus claiming thy looked identical.

Not much of a point there.

Care to post the last 4 years of iPhones?

Because that’s what I did with the galaxy note.
Completely dated design.

Galaxy note 5 -galaxy note 9

Again care to post
The iPhone 6s to iPhone Xsplus?

Don’t think you would, because it would kind of disapprove your ridiculous assertion.

I see his reasoning as well. You are obviously biased towards the iPhone so it might be difficult for you to look at the iPhone objectively. To be honest many of the Galaxy phones look the same and many of the iPhones look the same. Obviously there are small differences, but the overall design and theme for both phones is dated, has been carried over, and to honest a little boring.

But if you are intent on claiming Samsung is the only culprit here and if it helps you sleep better at night, then who am I to stop you...

When their phone market becomes stagnant then what? They are already divesting away from desktops and laptops. There is no one around anymore to motivate Ives. I don't think stock options and corporate profits are enough to motivate new design ideas. Not so long after the great motivator who was Steve Jobs left the building, "refining" took hold. I am surprised the trend has lasted this long. Maybe Apple will end up like Microsoft. A technology services company, whose hardware design ideas have seen their heyday and eventually dried up.

Man remember when Motorola was basically the Apple of smartphones? I'm talking like mid-2000s. The Razr was THE phone during that time and for good reason; it did everything you could ever want. But now... who even are these guys?

Apple could end up the same way.

I remember HP was going through similar issues. I see Apple eventually restructuring and splitting its hardware, mobile, services, home entertainment, etc. This was the reason their changed from Apple Computers to Apple Inc.

Their have gone through the dark days once and their seem to have learnt from it I hope, the situation is their products need to be sold at a higher price due to competition, saturation and stock holders expectations. Yet people are not getting richer and the ones who purchase are holding on to it longer. Eventually it will eat into profit margins or market expectations will not be met and the stock price takes a hit. Something has to give and I am curious to see what will be first.

yes, but that is not fun ,
so:
THINK...... have you every manufactured anything?
in manufacturing, producing items sometimes goes wrong.
there are all condoned and deemed misfit and irregular products that other companies BUY at a lesser cost
like samsung, to make those nice and cheap google chrome books, when did this happened?.. oh yeah, 2015

when I awake up tomorrow and see space creatures ruling this planet, i will not be surprised.

Apple produces their own AL stock for the unibodies. They re-use mis-fit and "blem" pieces by shredding them and adding them back into the raw chip material.

The Samsung notebook has an entirely different hinge, the keyboard is a different layout, it has a different sized bezel around the keyboard and the entire side profile of the notebook is entirely different. The air has a consistent taper while the Samsung remains thick and then thins out halfway through once the ports have been located.

You keep saying this happened in 2015, that was also in the previous post where I asked for any sort of proof or evidence or even a picture of the Samsung model that is apparently build using "gutted" macbook airs.

It's hard to have sympathy for U.S. originated companies who sell their souls and jump completely into bed with foreign entities that have no respect for international trade and patent laws. Expect it to get much worse... that bed is getting bigger every day. Enjoy that trillion while you can. Good luck :apple:.
They jumped into bed with google first, another American company. Google sold them to lenevo.

The series 3 chromebook looks a lot like the 11 inch MBA.

You think the iPhone X looks dated?
Hahahaha, the entire industry is in the process of Copying the iPhone X, and you think it’s dated. Yeah sure , bias indeed.

Do also You think the iPhone X looks identical to the iPhone 7?

Or his ridiculous assertion that the iPhone 6plus looked identical to the iPhone 5?

That’s some of the ridiculous claims Jamz was making.

It’s not even a question of bias, when posters practice dishonesty.

There Is a reason he never posted the last 4 years of iPhone instead focusing on iOS which hasn’t changed, however the design of the iPhone has changed over the years.

Samsung on the other hand for the last 4 years has recycled the same tired design over two ranges, that’s twice a year.

And premium galaxy sales have suffered because of it. Because of the galaxy’s dated recycled designs,

All you have to do is go to the alternative section of this board and look at how many die hard Samsung fans now carry an iPhone. ;)

Some here are overtly sensitive to anything being said about Samsung.

Im sorry but sometimes you post complete dribble, your bias is so strong you will make any excuse to try to justify your claims. Both Samsung and Apple keep similar designs year after year and they do it for a reason, a little thing called brand identity. You really are drinking the Apple cool aid if you think most iPhone models don't look similar. Don't even bother replying as i'm not even going to bother arguing with you.

You are an expert on dribble.

Excuses. I don’t see any excuses.

Samsung has a dated design that they haven’t changed in 4 years. They used those designs Twice a year for 4 years. It has become incredibly dated.

Because of that. Samsung premium galaxy sales are at it lowest since 2012/2013.

Can’t argue with facts, whether you understand them or not.

Keep drinking that cool aid buddy. You are delusional if you think Apple is not doing the exact same thing. The iPhone X is is the first iPhone that looks significantly different, all reports say the S10 will be making a similar jump in design.

In some way it's the other way round here. Those bags claimed to be authentic originals, however those phones actually claim to be different haha
I was at one store that actually had some originals and they pointed out the exact differences to their cheaper ones. May have kept them on the legal side.
[doublepost=1534749006][/doublepost]
I don't think Apple should be legally allowed to single out only one company.
If you wish to go after companies that directly copy your design, then fine do that, but be consistent.
Why should they not be?
[doublepost=1534749319][/doublepost]
Well, if there ever was a time NOT to patent something, it's that stupid notch.
Actually, this would be about design patents, and you can’t get design patents for things that have functionality. The notch in the iPhone X has functionality. It’s not just done for the looks. Apple would have a very hard time to get a design patent for the notch.

Truth hurts

This one? iPhone used same design in 17 phones before changing, It's even less changes than what Samsung did or pretty much any other manufacturer.
Front was the thing that needed the biggest change and that took 17 before they decided to do it.

The X was a complete change and good looking but aftes iPhone 4 is was getting old and they should have done something.

So my post wasn’t dribble?

Why would the s10 “jump” in design if this years s9 and note 9 weren’t incredibly dated?

So the iPhone X is “significantly different”?

Your not making much sense.

I don’t think they used the same design 17 times.

Plus side being is that the notch can be turned on and off.
Not much of a plus IMO. To me, the top of the display looks worse with it hidden. OTOH, showing the notch and having the top but not the bottom of the display go to the edge also looks bad. Not only is this a shameless copy, they've not even done it right.

Looks like a better iPhone X with possibly fingerprint scanner and probably half the price. And, the iPhone X stole ideas from Samsung Galaxy phablet and Essential Phone notch.

You would never confuse iPhone X with Samsung Galaxy or Essential Phone, even at a glance. This? A different story.

It's one thing to have a notch, the other to copy the entire look - down to the wallpaper. iPhone X, Essential Phone and Samsung Galaxy all have unique looks. Of course, you could argue that all phones look alike as they are basically screens and thin bezels, but still, within those limitations, all these phones have their style. However, this Motorola is a direct copy in so many ways, it's a whole different thing. Sadly, this is what these companies are forced to do to sell products.

As for being a "better iPhone X" than the iPhone X - heh, good one.
