It's Motorola only in name. It's a Chinese company now. I am only seeing Chinese companies copying the notch so I am not surprised as Chinese companies always copy. Google seems to be obsessed with Apple so the Pixel is also a follower. The only company on Android which has a headphone jack and no notch and trying to differentiate is Samsung.

I know that’s why I said the American Motorola would’ve never done this. They are owned by Lenovo now. It’s a shame because on the computer side Lenovo still makes a nice product continuing the IBM Thinkpad tradition. There’s no notebook like it on the market. It will always be my favorite Windows notebook. I had an original Thinkpad back in ‘98 and it was rock solid.

Oh that's too bad. I bet it runs smooth like garbage too. The search for my 6S replacement just keeps getting nowhere. Will no one step up to the plate? Looking forward to Apples Fall releases. I might just end up with a damn notch.

Looks like a better iPhone X with possibly fingerprint scanner and probably half the price. And, the iPhone X stole ideas from Samsung Galaxy phablet and Essential Phone notch.

You mean the lack of innovation to place fingerprint scanner on the back like every Android phones? Pathetic design.

No it looks worse.

And I'm sure apple was able to copy the notch from the Essential Phone and get it into production one month before they announced the iPhone X.
The Essential phone design was out in 17 of May so 4 months before iPhone X was introduced and 2 months before apple gave the order for processors, screens etc.
So your 1 month is invalid ,but yeah I agree this phone looks worse than the iPhone X .

Just embarassing to see how all those imitators copied wireless charging from the iPhone X.
(that only got its inspiration from Galaxy...)

Tbh it’s nice for people who want an Android phone, but want the iPhone X design. There’s plenty of other Android phones that have a unique look if you don’t want that. I do say though that is definitely copied heh.

Eh? I have one on my Pixel and it works good? I personally like it better than my iPads location. I can just pick it up and it’s unlocked already because my finger touches there when I pick it up. FaceID is good, but there’s a lot of flaws where having a scanner would be nice too.

Apple doesn’t wait until July to place orders for its September phones, and designs are locked months before that. iPhone X design was locked in by the end of 2016. The notch itself is shown in a 2016 patent as well.

Apple took no design cues from Essential, though it was released before the X.

Motorola - once they were Kings!

Now, the just want to sell to the Chinese!
Well there's this:
"Google's ownership of the company was short-lived. In January 2014, Google announced that it would sell most of Motorola Mobility to Lenovo, a Chinese technology company, for $2.91 billion"

Apparently they only brought it to acquire some patents and then quickly sold it on.

That just killed the company. They will forever be known as a company that sells cheap clones, instead of an innovative high class company.

Is that a new iPhone? No, its the new Clone from Motorola. Oh to bad. ☹️

It's hard to have sympathy for U.S. originated companies who sell their souls and jump completely into bed with foreign entities that have no respect for international trade and patent laws. Expect it to get much worse... that bed is getting bigger every day. Enjoy that trillion while you can. Good luck :apple:.

Do you have any proof of this? The only pictures I can find of these notebooks side-by-side shows two significantly different notebooks with similar looks. I can't see how the 'gutted' body/frame/hinge or anything from an air could become what Samsung was selling.

yes, but that is not fun ,
so:
THINK...... have you every manufactured anything?
in manufacturing, producing items sometimes goes wrong.
there are all condoned and deemed misfit and irregular products that other companies BUY at a lesser cost
like samsung, to make those nice and cheap google chrome books, when did this happened?.. oh yeah, 2015

when I awake up tomorrow and see space creatures ruling this planet, i will not be surprised.
