Either way, I can only guess that this isn't being sold in the US because Motorola doesn't want to be sued.
How would that stop Apple from suing them?

God only knows why they copied a rubbish design.
Because while it may be a rubbish design to you, it’s clearly not a rubbish design to everyone else who’s copying and selling iPhone X knockoffs.

This clone from Motorola shows exactly how powerful and dominant the iPhone is in the smart phone era. Other smart phone manufacturers know how much of a trendsetter Apple is and they will follow accordingly, Because Apple changes the world Around us with their technological advancements. Copying Apples designs *is* a direct result of this.

You sure know what you buy a copy of, and you sure know that it’s the NOT IPHONE X.

Hence, it hails the iphone X, it’s a bandwagon device, and consequently approves of inferiority.

But this thinking is just as boring as the object being discussed.

What surprises me most, is my assumption that one would be able to answer a phone call, without the screen being taken over by the call...

This, dear friends, seems to set some desire for a similar interface on ios: Obviously, today’s mobile phones are less phone than the name suggests:

Screen time must be clise to 0 percent for phone calls, unless we talk about FaceTime and similar video calls.

This makes me think:

To actually use a smart phone as... a smart phone... implies that I must be able to carry on doing what I was doing, when someone calls me.

We sure can change the phone interface during a call, but what about being able to pick up and clise your call, without ever having left your game interface, or whatever you were doing, when the phone rang...?

Who likes that as a more interesting conversation?

Okay, pop this out into a new thread, if so necessary, it sure is okay for me.

You can't buy taste. Seriosly though, I love Apple, but iPhone X IMHO is the most atrosious industiral design ever conceived. Why, oh why, design a screen that takes a chunk out of whatever your watching? Defend it all you want, but inside, secretly, you know you are wrong.

Motorola is just as nutty to copy it.

Guess if you don’t have a notch you have a dated design.

#notchlife
I went for notch, sold my notch and got a new Iphone 7 Plus, back from where I came. And I am pretty happy that I did.
It would be sad if the notch would be the only option. Perhaps that would make me switch to another brand, after all those years! Seriously!

Xiaomi, sounds exotic, and could relieve me from post Steve Jobs stress.

I don't think Apple should be legally allowed to single out only one company.
If you wish to go after companies that directly copy your design, then fine do that, but be consistent.
Wait, what? That makes no sense whatsoever. When a company like Apple sues, they sue strategically. Not indiscriminately. Do you understand what you're advocating is essentially the business plan for a patent troll? Sue erbody!!!! And your suggestion is to put some legality behind it:(

That's just a patently bad idea.

Ummm.... How is this different from the rest of the android industry?....
A lot of them have some similarity because there are only so many ways to design a rectangle that is mostly screen, but this one is an even closer copy than any other one out there. I would imagine Apple stands to make a good deal of money from the eventual lawsuit if this goes on sale in any countries that actually have a respect for intellectual property.

So maybe now the crowd here will stop calling Samsung a copy-cat since their recent phones look nothing remotely like iPhones, and have unique features. Motorola is blatantly copying here... no question about it. I can't imagine Apple not taking action against them. Of course this could be a way for Motorola to get some attention since they have been a ghost in the market for many years recently.

And have 10X the technology behind the notch versu the Essential.

I don't think ANYONE is copying anything Essential does. They are a rounding error.
My post was meant to be sarcastic. should of used the `/s`
