The sad state of affairs in the cellphone world means that everyone just copies Apple.

It's sort of pathetic, really. I mean, even the PC world has multiple form factors and some attempt at differentiation. Smartphones? Not so much.

That’s what Chinese do, copy everything. China offers nothing that’s innovative or originally their own.

Proof is in the pudding. Looks like an iPhone but doesn’t work like one.

A buggy EMUI overlay on android leaves little to be desired and Huawei may be in jeapordy in losing the Android platform. Huawei will have to rely on thier own OS and now that P30 is a paper weight.

You want Gucci, buy Gucci. :apple:

That chin just makes it look horrible. The only reason that the iPhone X looks like its edge to edge is because the bezel around the edges are all the same. Its a great optical illusion. I've yet to see a "edge to edge" display without a chin.
Optical illusion? Are you sure about that?

Because aerodynamics work the same in both countries and the requirements for both vehicles were very similar.
It's more about saving money. The argument was that the Americans had already spent all that money and came up with the optimally concluded design and copying it would save the Russians a massive amount of cash to come to the same conclusions. It's why everybody copies Apple because there is no better design.

Pathetic. And the only real change they made, adding a chin for the logo, made it so much worse and tackier.

Mototola should be ashamed of themselves. Take some pride in your work.

I’m assuming you’re joking. But in case you’re not, this is the Buran:

Are you kidding no one had a notch before the iPhone X.

Apple applied to Patent the iPhone X design back in 2016....

And they got it.

Don’t know why you would think it’s generic.
‘Cause when Apple does it it’s always obvious or generic.

Except Apple wasn't the first to use a notch. Look up the essential phone.

I actually think the rest of the smartphone world is taking the p*ss out of the iPhone X. “....we can make a god-awful looking phone with a notch also....even though we don’t need one....., oh and we can charge a stupid amount of money for it as well....”

Google seems to think the bigger the notch the better by looking at the Pixel XL3 leaks. :(

Phones will end up looking more and more the same as everyone removes hardware buttons. You can't differentiate much when all you have is a display and a camera lens in the back.

The one thing I like is that Motorola appears to have managed to add a fingerprint sensor.

Under Lenovo, Motorola is just a shadow of its former self. It’s just another “Chinese” phone nowadays.

- this is not only copying iPhone X, but it literally copies Huawei’s Pxx model name and the language design. Lenovo just went lower by copying another Chinese OEM. Of course, the stupid chin is there.
- gone are the simple lineup of X, G, and E. Lenovo has to muddle the lineup with Z, C, M, and now this random Pxx.
- under Lenovo, Motorola has become inconsistent in updates, now only updating their phones’ security updates quarterly (at best) or longer. So basically if you get the lower end models, you will not get any OS updates, and only two or three security updates over the life of the phone

How can they even be proud to sell that?
The Chinese has no shame in selling copycats. Just look at Oppo/Vivo.
*yes, Motorola is Chinese, it is owned by Lenovo.

Duh.
It figures. Motorola is a Chinese company.
Which means Apple will be doing nothing. They can't-- they'll lose access to the China market and the slave factories, and good bye trillion.

Its good isn't it when you are the bigger market, and you use it to your advantage.. *grins* Anyone could copied it, didn't have to be China, just a coincidence.

There must be more "notch people" in the android community than apple now.

People will HAVE to like the notch now... as more phones comes with them...

Why buy a lookalike instead of the real thing? It’s impressive how people behave like sheep and now everyone wants to flaunt their monobrow (aka notch).
