Múltiple? How are three multiple?

Bad start for Samsung but MacRumors definitely been bought by Apple

Oh Samsung, why aren’t you learning from past mistakes? Rushing out faulty goods just to be first on the market, again.

At least five units are affected:

Marques Brownlee
Mark Gurman
Dieter Bohn
Todd Haselton
Steve Kovach

Those are just the ones in my twitter feed.

Todd and and Steve are the same device fyi...todd just ranting about steven's review unit.

Did anyone actually not see this coming a mile away.. besides Samsung?

I saw this along with other issues:

  • The screen will get easily scratched and look terrible after a few months of use.
  • The flexible screen will feel cheap and flimsy when tapped on (this is why people like the laminated iPad screens over the non-laminated screens - the difference in quality/feel is obvious).
  • The crease becoming more and more obvious the more it’s been folded/used.
  • The difference in feel when tapping or swiping in the screen near the middle crease (several reviewers have pointed this out already).
  • The device won’t feel like a traditional tablet when used (like a solid piece of glass) because it will flex at the hinge - which will get worse over time.

I was always asking myself where the magic trick was that doesn't make these things break at the earliest occasion - from the first time I ever heard about this idea of a foldable display.

Well, some people light cigars with 100 USD bills.
That's the modern equivalent for non-smokers.

It's a beta product. What do you expect?

Probably Samsung will inspect those devices and come with a solution.

Don't know why so many people from here complain! It's not like you spent 2000$ on the phone and didn't know it's a beta product, or Samsung come with the "F you response"! I'm an Apple user but I admire Samsung courage and the fact that they are trying something new!
Like releasing a beta product?

In the meantime Apple prepare to release a NEW phone with the SAME design with a LITTLE specs bump :)

Which is the right thing to do until they can release a final product with the new tech that‘s not in beta status.

I’m interested in knowing why they fold the way they do. I don’t need a phone that can double it’s with.

I’d rather have one that half’s it’s height.
Don’t need a mini mini iPad. But would love a half size iPhone when I’m running etc.

This all day. That’s the question others should be asking, we don’t know how many units are actually affected widespread. Totally agree that this is a poor reflection for Samsung, but sometimes the media has a way of over exaggerating in making things seem worse than what they really are. In this case, Samsung will have to clarify and answer for the concern with the Galaxy Fold. Undoubtably they will address this at a later point.

Samsung: Be the first to market for everything.

Apple: We wait until new innovation is perfect before releasing it.

Like an Apple designed butterfly keyboard mechanism that's still causing problems despite 3 revisions now, and actually stopping some people from wanting to update their macbooks till apple get around to fixing it properly.

That kind of perfect you mean :)

This actually makes me kinda sad. I was just saying on Twitter how this phone genuinely excited me. Even though I would not switch over to Android for a bunch of reasons, I like when companies try to innovate or push the envelope because it's good for competition. Apple clearly needs a fire under their butts to give us what we want in our iPhones. This is bad for that purpose.

“I hit my phone with my jet sky, it didn’t seem like I shouldn’t do that.” *eyeroll*
