AirPower wasn't a charger at all. It never existed. It was an interesting idea that Apple couldn't make work.

People talk as if Apple had warehouses full of them but decided not to ship. They had a photoshop and some prototypes, and nothing more.
Is this an opinion or fact. If you are citing this as a fact I’m requesting a citation from some verifiable source.

This is really sad actually. It is probably one of the most innovative things we have seen in years. Samsung really should pull the plug because they are just setting themselves up for another exploding note recall. Obviously this will not be as widespread as the note line, but why launch a product that you now know is flawed? Only a handful of reviewers have these, and after just one day multiple are reporting display failures/breaks. This is negligent on Samsung to continue with the launch.

They are having issues with the 5g s10 as well.

Galaxy fold won’t fold, and galaxy s10 5g doesn’t 5g.

At least the 5G issue can probably be fixed with a software update. But I don’t see how they’ll make a folding screen that will open and close hundreds of times reliable.

Another colossal SumDung failure. Yay. SumDung - the black hole in your galaxy.
What was the other failure? Faulty keyboards, bend gate, display flex cable, thermal throttling, predend tablets...? Let me guess that battery fiasco a few years ago. Apple has had more issues in 1 product than Samsung in its entire portfolio in the past decade so you shouldn't be so happy about it.

Exploding phones.

You know the note 7 and now the galaxy fold can’t fold without breaking the display. So yeah.

Wrong move for Samsung to move forward with the release. The product has no value as is because it's not a better experience than anything already offered today. They really think people are going to buy them now knowing that they break easily also? Good luck.

Ok well
Displaymate doesn’t take your one sided view.

Oh?

https://www.macrumors.com/2018/09/24/iphone-xs-max-displaymate/

https://www.cultofmac.com/512485/iphone-x-boasts-best-smartphone-display-ever/

Which backs up my posts:

  • An iPhone with the same generation screen as a Samsung phone outperforms the Samsung version.
  • Android has terrible color management meaning that gorgeous screen in any Samsung phone is wasted due to not being able to render all content properly.

It’s like have a $10K audiophile speaker system in your home. The speakers may be the best sounding ever, but if all you’re doing is listening to MP3s at a measly 64k bit rate then it doesn’t matter.

But this is old. The S10 plus has already surpassed the screen on the Xs max and Apple have only been making phones with Oled displays for 2 years.

Displaymate did not say that the displays on Samsung phones are terrible as you put it. They’ve been rated as excellent by displaymate.

Also after the Xs max came out and was given the best display ever rating the pixel 3 Xl came out and that was given the best display ever rating. All 3 displays are made by Samsung.

The fact is the displays on Samsung phones and iPhones with OLED are both very good.

They weren’t going to sell that many anyway but the best thing for them to do is to cancel the release or at least delay it. If they release it and the displays start breaking it will be the note 7 all over again and this time I won’t give them a pass because they knew about the issue before they shipped.

From the beginning people were sceptical. Before jumping the gun we need to see how many are affected even when they operate it normal fashion instead of trying weird things (intentionally or otherwise). Typically, reviewers getting free pieces tend to abuse the products, but trying to remove the film may have contributed the issue, nevertheless, after parting $2000 for a first gen product, it may not be a nice experience for the real buyers of this product. Hope Samsung clears the air with suitable explanation.

They never said that.

Why are you making things up?

For sure, they have to address the issue. If they have already fixed it then they need to let people know that those were from an initial batch that was perfected afterward. Though I highly doubt that because why would they send faulty products to the people that have actual influence regarding how the product does.

They need to do something or this will be another Note 7 type fiasco. I would be super pissed if I bought a $2000 phone that lasted a few days.

Star Wars alternate reality...
‘May the Fold Be With You’...
At the Battle of Yavin in Star Wars the X-Wings’ wings were made by Samsung, so when it came time to move the wings into the attack position going into battle against the Death Star, the wings wouldn’t unfold, the Death Star cleared the planet and had a direct shot on the rebels. Base/planet obliterated, Tarkin lives, the Empire wins so... no need for The Empire Strikes Back...
