Anybody get a tracking number that lives in the Bay Area Ca? Ordered mine at 1:57 am PST. Tried both UPS and FedEx and still nothing. Been preparing for shipment since yesterday morning.

This fixed my problem and it is working now.
Mine is showing delivery for the 14th by the end of the day :/ I was hoping to get it in a day early like pre-orders have in the past. Otherwise I would have just bought it in store...
I'm in the Bay. I ordered mine at about 2 PM at the Apple store while I was hanging out in downtown Walnut Creek. I was able to get my tracking info from ups last night. My apple status still says preparing for shipment.
Apple shows Preparing for shipment but with UPS reference # check see below

None of the UPS or Fedex tricks are working for me. Oh well!
I ordered through AT&T and the good news is that my order status changed a bit earlier this morning. It no longer says I have any back ordered items. I imagine stuff will start popping up later today.

I wouldn't be surprised to see it Thursday since that's what happened last year. I have ordered three years in a row with AT&T and always had it early.
AT&T is the BEST of ALL carriers, I've used the rest... they just suck.

I'm in Contra Costa County as well. Ordered from apple.com on Friday at 5:50AM PDT and got my shipment notification this morning at around 12:15AM. It has just departed Hong Kong en route to the U.S. It originated in ShengZhen, China
This is why I NEVER order an iPhone from Apple
They are terrific, the very best online store for ordering Macs and other items, but when it comes to iPhones, no one is as fast as AT&T.
I ordered one for my wife and I already have a confirmed FedEx delivery time for Friday before 10am.
I would not be surprised if it arrived early, on Thursday of this week since that's what happened last year they were early by one day prior to release day.
My friends that decided to get theirs at the Apple store were pissed to see I already had my iPhone 4 and didn't have to stand in line.
FedEx is so far superior to UPS, plus I get it before 10 am instead of having to wait all day.
Two out of three of mine have shipped. I'm assuming they're both 32gb and the last is the 64gb. I just searched on UPS's website so I can't tell which is which at the moment. Apple still says it's "processing". According to UPS they shipped 3 hours ago.
I guess it depends where you are. UPS is superior where I am. Fedex actually shutdown all its kinko's/delivery stores because they weren't generating enough business. Come to think of it I rarely see a FedEx truck anymore. I'm located in central jersey/shore area.
I'm in the exact same boat. Same phone, same network, same store, same order time and same no damn tracking number.
If you ordered through ATT and NOT through Apple, you should realize you are THE first person to get the tracking number from ATT.
Did you use Phone, ATT.com or Premier?
