He was rather wooden.

I attribute it to first time stage jitters. He seemed to enunciate each word to avoid messing up lol

I'd like to attribute it to that, too, but the thing is that this is just how he speaks. Just take a look at him announcing the Verizon iPhone 4. Same style.

ok. I'd never heard him (or of him) before lol

I didn't mind him at all. But then again, I wasn't expecting a Steve clone.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

Forstall get's creepier with every keynote. He gives these weird looks and just seems a little off.

Would you trust him with your kids?

No but I trust him with my iOS and thats all that matters haha.

He seems fine to me. I only really pay attention to the info given, not the way it's given, unless there's something distinctly poor about it. At the end of the day, keynote speaker is not his job title.

I too was really disappointed by Tim's performance. As a CEO, he doesn't get a warm-up product intro. What surprised me even more was that when the 4S was announced, it wasn't even pulled out and held up for all to see. Instead, we had to look at a picture of it on a slide. I guess that was confirmatiion that Apple is afraid people will just see the same exterior as iphone 4 and be disappointed. And what was with the wisecrack about delay in picture taking for other phones? Pretty poor overall presentation in my opinion.

All the whiney babies who are complaining about the screen not getting bigger need to take into account that all of the apps that you have would have to be reformatted to fit two iPhones and many of them to fit iPad 2. Im doubtful that they would do that.

That's not true at all...

Would it of killed Apple to make the screen just a 1/2 inch bigger?!?

I was actually surprised Phil was the one to introduce the revolutionary (my favorite word btw) iPhone 4S.

On the other hand, Scott and Phil are my two favorite presenters. Tim sounded a little bit too lethargic, uninterested. We'll see how WWDC goes. That's gotta be 100x more nerve-wracking.

I love Forstall's scary look :D

Gotta agree. The guy obviously knows his stuff but he is a rather "unfortunate" presenter isn't he?

Wow, this is a tough crowd. I thought Tim did just fine. Cool and professional, but warm and engaging underneath it all. He's a CEO, not an MC.

I've seen CEOs do much, MUCH worse.

The charisma of Steve was not seen on stage yesterday,
and will be missing as well on the campus in meetings etc.

No doubt Apple seems a different company now.

Better than Steve Ballmer!

I don't agree.

At least Ballmer has some charisma and you watch him to make an ass out of himself, one way or another but you're watching him. With Tim it was a flat line, like "meh" and skipped his parts.

I think half the problem, if you guys are honest with yourselves, is that you're expecting an almost religious experience every time Apple announces a new piece of hardware.

I thought Tim spoke well. Steve has a certain charisma about him for sure, but I think there's something to be said for using fewer adjectives too.

Steve Jobs would've released the iphone 5 if it was him on stage.

Steve was there most of the year, releasing of the iPhone 4S was a corporate decision not Tim's. As for a presenter to the world he is not, but to the financial community he is, he did well in presenting the info on the status of Mac's and Lion.

Tim is an business man, he should stay behind the scenes. He just doesn't look like the face of a company. He looks like some executive Dad who lives out in the suburbs. That shot of him on the front page looks kinda creepy too.
