I have a black 5 from October 2012. Mine is still in pretty darn good condition, and I've never used a case. I make sure nothing else is in my pocket with it.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend going caseless to everyone though. If you have kids or have a more active lifestyle, then a case may be worth it. But it also depends on the color of iPhone. I think the white/silver is more survivable.

I have only cased up on 2 occasions, new years eve, because they phone has a higher chance of being dropped/knocked out my hand with alcohol/large groups of people involved.

The other occasions being on a loanee phone from Apple whilst mine was being repaired. Luckily I did because I dropped it face down on concrete for the first time ever and it was absolutely fine!

Rest of the time, Naked!

Depends on how careful you are. I find it very beneficial to use a case. But I could understand that there are occasions when you might not need one.

Just be sure to be cautious.

I use a case... not for protection, but for functionality. I use the Wallee M case and the Wallee M Car Mount. The magnetic grip holds the phone very tight, yet it is so easy and quit for me to mount and unmount.

Hi everyone, i've been trying a lot of different cases/back covers/bumpers for my 5s and i still can't find the perfect one. I think the size, weight and feel of the naked iPhone can't be experienced with a case; however, it's too scary for mee to not use any protection on my 5s.

To those who don't wear any cases, do you recommend it? Is your iPhone too damaged, scratched, etc.? Have you ever regret not using a case? Please convince me to go naked:D

No case or screen protector for me, just a sena cartera as a wallet to carry in pocket. Phone is still basically mint. I keep a cheap case around as a backup if I'm going out to play sports, gym and such where it's a greater chance of phone being dropped. Day to day though, no case at all. Doubt I will buy again.

naked iphone 4 here. i usually keep it in my pocket, next to keys, etc... dropped it countless times - it once even skidded on a gravel road for a few meters - got some nice parallel (but still barely noticeable) scratches from that.
sure it got a few small scratches, but i wouldn't want to hide it's design behind a cover or make it's footprint bigger.

I mean, you realize that you are carrying around a 400-500 dollar phone? What would happen if it HAD broken when you dropped it? You would have to replace it, with a really expensive thing. I would definitely have a case for it. It's just not really wise...

I suppose you have a case protecting your car then? Perhaps a case on your furniture or appliances all of which cost significantly more than an iPhone. Just sayin. Some people like cases some people don't.

No case currently on my 5. I had one, but got rid of it. It kinda bugged me to pay a lot for this thing partly because of it's size, and then have to bulk it up with a case. It's true that the phone isn't completely indestructable, but it is pretty tough. Mine now has a tiny ding on the corner, but no one but me is ever going to see it, and it doesn't affect the function in any way.

Battery case ATM. Just replaced the back which was cracked and don't wanna do it again. Trying to find a thin case though

I have insurance on my car. And I have warranties on my appliances. I have covers on my furniture, and I clean regularly. I often find that when you take preventative measures, your investments often are safer than when you don't.
