Is that really the only way to tell? No identifier on the app store or list on the watch... you need to open each individual app? Seems odd. In any event it seems like none of my apps are native yet... a few of them have updates awaiting though so I'll see soon enough
I suppose a developer could say in the release notes, but the position of the name while loading seems the only official way to distinguish thus far.Is that really the only way to tell? I must be one of the lucky ones. I have PCalc, City Mapper, Dark Sky, Parcel and iTranslate and they all work fine.
Guys, frustrating updates.
The day before yesterday, I settled this issue by restoring my iPhone and set it as new.
Right after that, I installed Omnifocus, iTransalte and Citymapper to test if restoring iPhone is a solution.
Yes it is (temporarily), and all 3 apps can be launched without any problem.
I spend 3 hours to re-set my iPhone, tuning all the system setting, syncing apps and music, adjust home homescreen, log in all the apps on my iPhone etc...etc...and finally I got my iPhone ready to use.
The last setup is to re-repair with my Watch, and guess what!
Same issue happened again! Exactly the same symptom!
So, this is it, try another restore is nightmare and I am putting my Watch in the box until Apple provides an official solution.
Dark sky works just fine for me.
I know that our problem is too small, there are no sites or news talking about this issue so i think they will not fixit it cos even in iOS 9.1 issue is still exist. Apparently we should care myselfit seems to be that backup or backup feature is also "broken" so the only way to make it work DO NOT RESTORE ANY BACKUPS, EVEN OLD.
Agree, just like the peeling paint issue in some sport black model, the number of case is not significant enough to alert Apple.I know that our problem is too small, there are no sites or news talking about this issue so i think they will not fixit it cos even in iOS 9.1 issue is still exist. Finally, finally, I made it to work.
1. Backup your iPhone using iTunes. (I don't know if an encrypted backup is necessary, because my friend didn't do that but I did.)
2. 'Erase All Content and Settings' from Settings app in your iPhone (Do NOT erase using iTunes! I've tried it and it doesn't work!)
3. 'Erase All Content and Settings' on your Apple Watch Settings app.
4. Restore your iPhone from backup using iTunes
5. Pair your iPhone with your Apple Watch.
Everything should work as you expect.
Good Luck.
The good news is that Apple is working to quickly phase out remote extension based apps. The section for it in Xcode is gone, and even better, the transition to making an app native is pretty straightforward and doesn't require too much effort on the part of the dev.
If everyone can find some time, I'd suggest we all hop on Apple Support and explain everything we've done so they can file a radar. That way they know the scope of the issue.
So which is it? one person got it working from a backup and another person says that if you restore any backup it will stop working again?
