I'm having the exact same problem ever since updating to Watch OS 2, done at same time as updating to iOS 9 on my phone. Updates to 9.0.1 and 9.0.2 have made no difference. All native apps, i.e., those with complications -- in my case Dark Sky, iTranslate, Citymapper, Elevate, The Weather Channel crash on watch while trying to open. The only other I have which also does that is the Apple Store App! All other apps open/work fine, and all work fine on the phone itself. Had the problem with my iPhone 6 Plus and it continues now that I've upgraded to the 6S Plus.

Did all the steps everyone described here and nada. Only thing I didn't try was an erase of the 6S Plus and setting it up as new (although I did one full erase of the phone and restore from backup after the initial set up which also was a restore from prior phone backup -- first time I set up watch as new and the second time restored watch from backup -- neither solved the issue).

On Sunday I created a case with AppleCare frontline tech who agreed I did everything she'd advise, and she arranged a call back with a senior tech advisor. Had that call on Monday and he took a variety of info to pass on to Apple engineers, and arranged a call back Wednesday. He told me they didn't want to put me through another erase of the 6S Plus this time setting it up as new (yet) unless they were certain that was the only fix. Sent him a link to this thread for what it's worth (got the impression he didn't look at though). Had the call back yesterday -- he advised the engineers wanted me to connect the watch to the charger, confirm it was charging, unlock it, go into the music app on the watch, play a song from the watch and confirm the sound is coming out through the phone. After that, try the native/crashing apps again. If they still crash, restart the watch (not a hard reset) and repeat the steps. Did all of this -- music played as expected, yet same apps still crashed (both times), now faster than before!

Next step was the senior tech advisor had me sync the phone with iTunes and while connected he had me upload my phone's diagnostics' file to give to the engineers. Next call back set for tomorrow evening for a status update.

Bottom line, nothing working yet, but he seems committed to sticking with it until the case is closed. I wish I had more confidence it would be closed with success, but feeling frustrated and therefore skeptical at the moment. I trust there'll be some kind of positive solution eventually though, hopefully not too painful (enough pain already)!

Curious, does anyone in here have a problem with the camera app on the Watch? I have always had this issue (since 1.0) where the camera app says it can't connect to the phone or something and then it quickly switches to another screen with some other issue. The app will constantly alternate very quickly between these 2 screens, but if I just tap the screen quickly a bunch of times it'll bypass these screens and connect to the camera on my iPhone.

It just hit me today that I've always had this bug with my camera app on the Watch.. Any chance any of you guys with native app issues also have this bug?

Yes, I have that issue if my camera on the iPhone wasn't set to the normal back camera at last use, but mashing the button normally sorts it out! Not sure if it is related to this issue, though.

I'm not having the camera issue.

I have a case in with Apple support for this issue as well. I've spoken to the normal support and a senior adviser, and both were great to work with. Next step is a call back from engineering, which should be in the next day or two.

If someone does talk to an engineer and they hastily blame it on developers, please tell them that their own Apple Store app won't load either! :)

haha so true, their own Apple store app doesn't work either so they can't blame it on the developers

I am having a very similar experience. But no call backs in 3 days now so I am calling back tomorrow morning...

That's a shame :( Am I right in thinking others can't use 3rd party complications either? Mine just show up empty or as a series of lines. No 3rd party complications work for me (because the apps don't load, either).
Same for me. Confirmed. All it shows is ----

Has anyone tried repairing after 9.0.2? Someone on Reddit is claiming it fixed their issues

I jut unpaired mine at work and I didn't realize I had low battery on my Apple Watch so my watch is now unpaire but I can't proceed with the apple watch setup process so I can pair it back because it says to connect it to the charger so I'll have to continue when I get home

Unfortunately it didn't work. Native apps still don't load.

Fairly confident now that the issue is with iOS, so I'm going to try backing up to iCloud and restoring from there instead of iTunes.

I really can't afford to start fresh, although I'm sure that would fix this – my data on here dates back to the first iPhone!

Any updates from people in touch with Apple engineers?

iOS? iOS9had two upgrades whole watch os 2 had none, what makes you think it's a problem with iOS?

Just a guess, since the only thing I haven't tried is wiping the iPhone without restoring from backup. I've tried unpairing/repairing the watch without restoring from backup multiple times and the problem seems to stick no matter what I do to the watch (which I only purchased three days ago, btw).

But you know as much as I do hah.

Yeah I'm home now and I finally re paired my iPhone 6s with 9.0.2 and native apps still don't work so I don't know where that rumor of that guy from Reddit that said it fixed it for him but whatever, doesn't work, watch OS2 is completely broken.
