I don't mind the protruding camera, especially if it offers improved specs as a result. I haven't heard anyone complain much about the camera on the iPod touch, and that probably protrudes more since the body is even thinner.

I doubt they would make it retract as some have wished, that would require even more space for the mechanism.

I'm more put off by the bands than the protruding camera lens. Overall its growing on me over time.

I have a suggestion, before you pass judgement Why don't you wait until Sept. 9th until you see what it ACTUALLY looks like? :p

Why, there are no surprises! The screen is curved, meaning no screen protectors possible. If you put one on the curved bezel will remain unprotected, aligning the screen film will be hell as well, and you'll constantly scratch it off by accident.

Don't even get me started on those antenna band or that terrible protruded camera ring.... Awww I'm so mad!

I was hoping the mockups were wrong. But this is it, the new iPhone 6 is design failure in every way... I really don't want to switch to Android or worse (Windows). So I'll stick to my gorgeous 5s as long as possible for the next couple of years.

Who knows, maybe I am the only one but I am not worried about the protruding camera. I myself have the iPod Touch and its camera protruding, without a case on it, and I will say I hardly ever, if I ever do, notice it. I hardly ever notice, if I ever do notice, it not sitting flush on the table. Matter of fact for me to even notice at all I must physically be trying to notice and move it to know the camera is protruding, and even then that the movement is so minimal that I have other things to "worry" about.

Like I said, this just coming from someone who has the latest iPod Touch. I can assure you that this is not something to worry about and it does not take away from the device at all. Others have posted pictures and images of what areas you have to touch on the iPod Touch for the device to even rock when on the table and I'd say that if you touch around 60-70% of the device it does not move at all. That's how minimal it is.

What about the front glass? Oh sexy, it's as curved as Jennifer Lopez butt!

But(t) how are we supposed to stick screen protectors on that 'greatly curved' NON-sapphire glass (the Russian says that it's not sapphire but some kind of compound material).

I'm not impressed, the overall design looks sluggish! Back or front, it's all bad. Is Ive still working for Apple?

I've protected all my iPhones with anti-glare films to improve readability. Now I won't be able to. Great! I love the new iPhone 6 already, not.

I didn't know there were still people daft enough to use screen protectors.

I was wanting to back to iPhones after my current Galaxy S4, but geez, the iPhone 6 reported dimensions are that it's taller AND wider than the S4 with a smaller screen. Ug. And my S4 has a protruding camera which has never bothered me because it's in the center. Having on the side seems annoying.

Do you think This phone does? lol

How does the phone sit flat on the table if the camera protrudes?

Fingers crossed that Apple has a few tricks up its sleeve and the protruding camera only projects out when the camera is in use. One can only hope.

I didn't know there were still people daft enough to use screen protectors.

Unfortunately the glass is giving me daft reflections, so yes I prefer anti-glare anti-fingerprints anti-bacterial anti-everything... screen protectors. It's my daft choice, which won't be possible to make with the new iPhone 6. The sad thing is, that design will now stick for years. It is very likely that upcoming iPads will also get these terrible curved screen edges. OMG!!!

You should seek professional help on this matter.

Am I being too nit-picky to think the protruding lens is almost a deal breaker for me? Or, at least not inline with Apple's design aesthetic philosophy?

Some people seem perfectly fine with it, while others are not. To me it's a pretty odd and polarizing design decision to port the number one complained about item from the iPod touch to the iPhone - just search for iPod doesn't sit flat and you'll find tons of users hating the protrusion. Sleek, an Apple design trait, and protruding camera ring don't really belong in the same sentence but what do I know.

As someone who doesn't use a case on iPhones, this is a deal breaker for me. Come the 9th, if it does indeed turn out to be true then I'll get to save some money this year.

The front looks nice but I'm not a fan of the bands at the back nor the protruding camera.

Big whup - antenna bands

More than 60% of the iPhone owners out there, especially males, get cases for protecting their iPhone baby. You'll never notice those bands.

Besides, they may have a more improved function over the 5s.

We'll have to wait until the 9th! These are rumors people - only rumors.

Surprises are great! :apple:

Agreed....also I think even the logo has a special function. I wondering how NFC would be accomplished. Is the signal going thru the antenna bands or the logo?

I have a current ipod touch and the protuding camera hasn't bothered me one bit. I am guessing I will still prefer it to to the iphone 6, smaller and 88 grams is aweseome.

Anyone else not excited for this size increase? the 5 was pushing it enough compared to the 4s, now I would rather have a 2.5-3" iphone mini than the iphone 6.

I love the way the phone opens up so easily. You could probably hide your weed in there.

I like how the top 'forehead' and bottom 'chin' are smaller. This coupled with the smaller side bezels, thinness and rounded sides will make this just as easy to use as the iPhone 5.

I'll be interested to see the 5.5" inch version for sure.

My wallet is ready.

I have the current touch, and it has never bothered me. even when i don't use the case, I like how it sits on flat surfaces better, it has a couple points of contact instead of the full surface grind you get with current iphone. if setting on something like concrete or metal, i prefer the protuding lens way. Easier to pick up as well. plus, you can always place it screen down if you want it to lay flat.

I was hoping Apple would give me an excuse to upgrade. Fortunately, my iPhone 5 still works great. The iPhone 6 seems too big to handle with one hand and the camera is a little off-putting. I don't understand why folks are looking to upgrade from the 5S, it's already a great product.

Why does a phone need to sit flat on a table?

As someone who had and loved the Palm Pre and HP Veer I can tell you that you don't want something that small if you ever want to web browse or watch video.

Why the protruding camera? Or better yet, why the quest to make a phone thinner and thinner to the point where the camera starts protruding out the back because it can't be made thinner? There is noting wrong with the thickness of Apples phones since the 5. I don't mind the rounded edges of this design, but keep the phone the same thickness the camera has to be which leaves more room for a bigger battery. When you buy a phone with an irreplaceable battery, it's best the phone not keep getting thinner than it reasonably needs to be.

Many replies so far are that people don't care for it, but then say "but I can live with it". Now you sound like iSheep that Samsung people call us. If Apple producted crap, you'd drool all over it.

Is this a design Steve Jobs would approve of? We now it's not! These things are being made with aluminum and saffire glass, their built like tanks that need no case to hide there beauty and only make iPhones look ugly. Why marvel over how nice it looks then put an ugly @$$ case on it?
