I know it is the most expensive option, but if you want this to last you ~10 years again, I'd strongly suggest:I need to replace my ancient 2010 MBP (yes, still runs... barely). My budget is $1500-1800. I do some light video/music editing and simple gaming. Mainly, I want this thing to last 6-7 years minimum. Which should I get?
MB Air 1.1 GHz Quad i5 (10th gen) - 16 GB Mem - 512 GB SSD ($1499)
MB Air 1.2 GHz Quad i7 (10th gen) - 16 GB Mem - 512 GB SSD ($1649)
13" MBP 1.4 GHz Quad Core i5 (8th gen) - 16 GB Mem - 512 GB SSD ($1599)
13" MBP 2.0 Ghz Quad Core i5 (10th gen) - 16 GB Mem - 512 GB SSD ($1799)
Overall, I'm sad this upgrade for the MBP didn't include an upgraded camera (720p... really?) and up it to 14". I'll have to buy something soon. So these 4 are what I'm looking at.
13" MBP 2.0 Ghz Quad Core i5 (10th gen) - 16 GB Mem - 512 GB SSD ($1799).
My only concern is that you'll be stuck with the 512 SSD, whereas the SSD was upgradeable on the 2010 model you are replacing.
