You haven't given any any proof yourself all you've done is tried to piss people off. I've never seen someone just respond to every ***** person that they could find something to disagree about. Get off the computer, stop acting like you know everything. There has even been enough evidence brought against your ridiculous claims that I don't even feel the need to point out how wrong you are. just stop because you already lost.

I lost? I haven't given any proof? Read the thread, or don't respond.

Yet I'm not the one writing personal insults to someone on the internet, I think you need a bit of a reality check.

"All right, Mr. ... uh ... Death ... Ninja? I have you booked from San Jose to Ho Chi Minh City, and just an overnight stay, right? You may have to check that stack of metal stars you have there with your luggage. Enjoy your vacation, sir!"

How is this costing Apple millions exactly ? Seems to me it cost Apple nothing at all.

People don't buy existing products once they see that new ones will be better. If the leaks don't happen, then people buy products now and then when new ones come out they can't resist and they buy those too.

wow that looks cool. is there anything it does better/ differently?

It may sound silly but the angled power cord is a very nice improvement over the previous design. The power cord goes straight back and makes for a VERY clean desktop.

cheers

Look, these product leaks are not showing up on the radar of Joe Consumer.

Trust me, I'm an AAPL shareholder, I read the SEC filings.

Quarter after quarter, Apple posts record breaking sales. They weren't even terribly affected by the recession of late 2008. Once a year, I fill out my proxy ballot and happily re-elect the board of directors, including Steven P. Jobs.

Leaks such as this one aren't translating into significant lost sales. If they are, go dig up the financial numbers that prove your point and post them here.

They couldn't stop the damn hammering for 5 min while they filmed this video?

I believe that's the Apple R.E.A.C.T ops trying to get in the door.

It's not a mistake, it's market segmentation. They want pro features like FW to be on a kinda-Pro model :)

Don't forget the ultra-pro backlit keyboards. If you don't have that you can't produce music and movies like a pro

personal insults? I haven't given any personal insults read my response or don't respond.

I have read the entire thread and all I've seen is you display your ignorance repetitively. I worked in a plastic manufacturing plant and let me tell you, it is not hard to recycle something that pops out of a plastic mold injection machine, you just grind it up and put it back in the pellet bin. It's just a machine that poops out pieces of plastic every 30 seconds or so and i could ruin about 50 products per day and no one would notice any problem because polycarbonate doesn't cost anything. and the part about the aluminum on the bottom, it's not machined out like the MBP. so again. you're just wrong.

Again, you have yet to show any factual evidence that manufacturing aluminum costs more than polycarbonite plastic. It's just you guessing that it costs less.
On the other hand, we have to take your word that it costs about the same without any proof, even though your statement is the one that goes against common sense. Sure, they cost the same even though cheap laptops from almost every manufacturer comes in plastic enclosures. Yeah, they make sense, no need for a proof, thanks...

Sounds like a factory is going to be losing Apple's business.

I'm getting sick of all these leaks. I enjoy being surprised.

Exactly.

Wrong

I provided a link to give you some insight. Nobody is saying its cheaper. Right now whats being said is that the overall cost is negligible based on many factors. ROI is one of them.

Not only had no other computer manufacturers use the water jet machining process to produce laptops before Apple did, none have begun to do so since.

It's easy to extrapolate [work out] why that is. It's clearly a superior process, allowing single part production with high degrees of accuracy and increased overall strength compared with pressed aluminium manufacture. That's obvious.

Blow moulding polycarbonate, on the other hand, has been around for a long time and is used for producing millions of different products. The list is almost endless. Ubiquity alone has a reduction effect on cost, both in terms of materials and process.

No one needs to provide proof of such facts. If a $2 product the size of a washing up bowl can be manufactured from polycarbonate... do I really ned to complete this sentence?

So you read MacRumors why...?

These aren't rumors anymore! With rumors, there's always the possibility that they're not true, and people keep guessing with nobody knowing for sure until the official product launch or announcement.

Would you rather see Steve Jobs on stage introducing a new product or would you prefer to find out about it from some Vietnamese guy with freaky finger nails?

apple updated their homepage.

Looks like Apple updated their homepage announcing this update. Hmm...wonder if it was in response to this leak. In other words, since the cat is already out of the bag...might as well make it official.

"piss people off. I've never seen someone just respond to every ***** person that they could find something to disagree about. Get off the computer, stop acting like you know everything"

You want to talk about condescending? That's it right there.

Just started reading from below, more insults.

You worked in a plastic manufacturing plant? Oh how convenient.

Guess what buddy... aluminum doesn't cost a thing either making your argument null and void. You think aluminum costs more to manufacture than plastic when both can be recycled? Give me a break. Both of the manufacture processes costs are incredibly easy and cheap.

I love assumptions.

If this is true im so disappointed... So now we have a new macbook when we were supposed to have a new macbook air? And just 2GB RAM? So the next macbook air will still have 2GB RAM?

NO!!!!!

Have read and UNDERSTOOD the thread

Show me proof of how a recyclable material that Apple can constantly re-use somehow costs more to make than the polycarbonate model.

And again, read through the entire thread or don't waste my time.

Don't waste your time? Don't make me laugh! The value of your time is irrelevant to me as it is to you. Your comments have been discredited and you have no answer.

The white Macbook is entry level and it is the cheapest laptop that Apple sells, did you really expect it to come with 4 gigs of RAM? That is an extremely unrealistic thought. If 4 gigs of RAM is very important to you, then just install it yourself. RAM is dirt cheap nowadays. It's so simple to do, even a caveman can do it. The same goes for the disk drive. You don't like 5400 RPM? Well, you can install whatever you like in place of that, including a 7200 RPM or SSD or whatever you fancy.

You think Apple's manufacturing process for the aluminum MacBook Pro's is so special? Don't make me laugh! Common sense tells you that a $2 product the size of a washing bowl can be made from aluminum... do I really need to complete this sentence?
