Oh no, I swapped out the default hard drive (500 GB 5400rpm) for my OCZ one.
OCZ uses a Samsung controller. If you got it working- that's good for me cuz I bought a Corsair--also Samsung.

The Vertex uses a Indilinx controller, not a samsung. I have the 128GB version of this drive awaiting the 13" I might buy this afternoon.
amazing apple can't answer this. if they are blocking 3rd party drives now -- that is really extreme. Tons of people use those intel SSDs. Did you try intel support?
that's a samsung. bodes well. fingers crossed.
Hopefully the corsair 256 will also work.
I confirm bootcamp installs no problem.
I have basic 15" MBP just got today, first thing is swap out HDD with 160GB Intel X25-M G2
Installed OSX with DVDs, smooth. Partitioned using bootcamp for 32GB for Windows OS, installed Win7 64bit, smooth.
Only one issue, magic mouse gestures (2 finger swipe page back/forward) will not work in Win7.
EDIT: I did upgrade the SSD firmware before I install all software, if this makes any difference, I don't know.
OCZ is indillix, so is corsair - should work the same

well i just tried it again with no luck. it's either a problem with the X25-V or the 13" MBP and 3rd party SSDs. anyone with a 13" MBP try it yet?
Did you try creating a partition? I was reading somewhere that you do the wipe of the disk. then create a partition. choose gguid (not sure about intials but something like that). Then clone.
My corsair 256 worked perfect. The only problem I had is I didn't have the tools to take out the mounting screws on the stock drive. Do you guys think I even need them for the SSD? it seems so snug?
I thought the problem was my Intel X25-V not being compatible, so I went out and got an Intel X25-M 80GB G2 that has been confirmed working by others in this thread. Set up everything as normal and the same exact problem occurred; bootcamp partition successfully configured in OSX, but once you get into the Windows 7 installer, no drives are detected. At this point, I think there is a problem with 3rd party SSDs and the new 13" MBP. If anyone can confirm this for me, that would really help.
I figured it out. Use a 32 bit version of Windows 7. I had two oem copies, 32 and 64, the 64 didn't detect any drives while the 32 did. Though, I might wait till this issue is fixed unless you don't mind a 32 bit operating system.
UPDATE: Never mind, I can't replicate the results again. I'm just gonna try rerunning the installer till it shows up.
@Fuzzie,
I don't why you're a glutton for the fustration dealing with Boot Camp in the first place. IF you're issues are with teh 3rd party SSD & Boot Camp drivers for Win7 then forego using Boot Camp all together.
Use Parallels 5 Desktop; install it, then install Win7 (all will take you less than 1.5hrs) and you should be all set. Yes you can install antivirus on the VM - use Windows Security Essentials (its must less overhead than Symantec/McAfee/etc and it has the spyware/trojan removal built-in).
I've done all the above in my post and I have no issues ... except for my trial version of Win7 Enterprise driving me insane with registration reminders. Also I don't have an SSD drive in my uMB (aluminum) - which uses 9400m but the same P8600 C2D as your 2010 MBP 13". I too have 4GB RAM and my 5400rpm 320GB may not be comparable but its worth a shot.
