You did the right thing!I've repeatedly come darn close to ordering either an existing Intel-based 27" iMac or just given in and gotten the 24" for the M1 chip because my late 2012 iMac is running sooooo long in the tooth. This might give me just enough hope to hold out a little longer.
Same here. I’ll have my wallet ready by February.Really excited for the new iMac. Will be purchasing on day 1.
Like someone said before. It’s an all-in-one pro computer. Space on the desk is big factor. Not everybody wants a plasma television on their desk. It’s a tool for work that’s all.Needs to be a 32" - Apple is behind on this. 27" is yesterday's size - introduced on the 2009 iMac literally 12 years ago. Been using a 32" 4k display for three years now - and it's been incredible. Disappointing to see it be a 27". Hopefully a 32" version can be released as well - because until then I'll have to buy a mini and hookup my preferred MODERN display size.
This also means by the year 2040 I expect a 50" display in my face. /s
Don’t think so, likely to be 30”, so it won’t crash with the 32” XDR display they selling. The Pro model probably needs to be 32"
I think you might be onto something here. Good call.So LG is supposedly doing 24-, 27- and 32-inch displays for Apple, right?
What if they do two Pro sizes?
iPad 10-inch Air 11-inch Pro 13-inch Pro MacBook 13-inch Air 14-inch Pro 16-inch Pro iMac 24-inch 27-inch Pro 32-inch Pro
ONLY if it suits your needs and ALL your current and near term apps are fully coded and supported for Apple Silicon.Time to trade in or sell my 2019 27-inch... make the jump to Silicon before I get left behind!
I think @TheYayAreaLiving 🎗 was referring to BeatsFitPro's and similar products that faced limited single country or regional releases or limited production runs due to chip shortages.Yeah come on Apple you should know better then trying to release anything new in the midst of a worldwide pandemic with a global multiyear chip shortage affecting every corporation on Earth!
And so does this consumer / fin-tech professional. At least 30”.27" is too small. Pros want 32
I mean, it’s totally possible I just have weird taste in monitor size. That said, do we have any sales numbers on 32” monitors versus 27” and 24” sizes? I know those curved ultra-wide ones fall in that range, but those are a very different product category. I can see a regular 16:9 32” inch display being fantastic for specific types of media professionals, but still relatively niche relative to 27”.I'm not quite getting your logic here, as you could say the exact same thing about standalone monitors over 27" and I don't think 32" monitors are a niche product. Seems like a ton of folks want those. I've owned 27" iMacs since 2012 and would definitely get a larger one if it became available. I only sit about 2 feet or less from it and I can easily see the whole screen.
HP Pavilion AIO computers have a chin. 99% certainty the new big iMac will have a chin. All the incessant chanting for a 30-32in. display, and without chin, is prayer-like wishful thinking aloud.Hopefully it doesn't have the chin (heat sink) Many companies have put the heat sink in the base like HP
