The new iPad has a good price, but it's a tiny update (in some ways) and a tiny downgrade (in other ways) from a product released in October 2014. How excited can we really be?

I think it's just the fact that it's in its own category. The Air 2 seemed out of place since the name no longer hold value in a time where all tablets are thin.

I get what you mean but this defo targeted at certain market. I wouldn't buy one for myself but for people on a budget, children, family members as gifts and also people with very old iPads; It's a great entry point in terms of price into the Apple Eco system.

Agreed. But I suspect at this point, for those who owns iPhone 6/6s, and the 7 are all waiting for the next iPhone. As for price wise, I'd say go for the SE if you don't care about the bigger screen. Maybe if the red was available from the beginning.
Nah. I have a red 7 on hold for pickup to replace my gargantuan, scratched up jet black 7 plus. When the redesign comes out I will get that too. I have plenty of people to hand them down to.

What you're saying:
They actualised the Air 2 by bringing someting thicker / more obsolete on the market (...)
Must be the ultimate moment of milkin' Cook, the Bezel-king

Agreed. Though I'm a little upset that there's no Air 3 to upgrade to, I think this fills in the gap for those who want a long lasting tablet for entertainment and education. Perhaps it's time to get my mother off her old iPad 2.[/QUOTE

this is the point of this product - budget consumers, schools and business will load up on this model

was gonna pick up a red iPhone, though looking at my 6S plus in a product red cover, it really looks better with the black front. Jet black with red leather case, in my opinion is a better look

I certainly don't disagree. If I have the money I'd consider jumping on it as well. But I think for majority of the people they tends to budget for the 1-2 year replacement cycle.

They should have done a RED iPad. Could have sold tons. But then they would have had to hand over some $. I bet that idea was shot down in a hurry!

256gb red iPhone 7 plus, will pick up at Apple Store at lunch. We'll see how it looks...

Will look terrible after the first time you drop it.
And if you get a case, as you probably should,
it will look like the case.
Hope that helps.

Sure, agreed; I already said I thought the price was good. It'll be a solid performer and a solid seller. But so would've the air 2 if they dropped the price on that model to $329.

I really thought I'd be ordering an updated (faster with extra USB port) MacBook today. Sigh. I'll just keep trudging along with my old 2011 MBA. I can't believe that SIX YEARS later Apple still hasn't given me an upgrade option that appeals.
I agree. I'm also carrying on with my 2011 Mac Air. All I want on a MacBook is an extra port!

well, they got me. ordered the red plus 128gb.

the fool that i am!

I couldn't resist either. Was planning to wait until the * but this is too beautiful. If the 8 is compelling enough I will upgrade sooner than normal and give this one to the kids.

Literally every post he has made is anti-apple. I will never understand people that spend huge amounts of time on a company enthusiasts website just to bash the company. I have never been on any android or windows enthusiasts website to denigrate their products, because I don't care. Never. It just seems so weird to me that people spend so much of their time doing this. Oh well, to each his own.

Yes some are trolls and want a reaction. Many are Apple fans and are disappointed by the offerings. You made your own point, you don't care enough to denigrate Android products. Clearly many of those bashing these updates care and want better **** to use/purchase.

I don't see anything wrong with being critical of Apple. I want to purchase Apple products, but they are making it more difficult for me to justify due to the lack of updates and advancements in certain product categories.

Wow that red iPhone is beautiful!

For a bit, til its smudged up from regular use or cracked from its first drop.
Otherwise, if you get a case ... so much for all that 'beauty'

Just dont get the whole fixation on phone color. Do you know how
many people besides you give a crap what color your phone is, beside you? hint: absolutely no one.

I never had an iPad, so I'm toying around with the possibility of picking up a 32GB model. It's not something I need (I'm not really a tablet guy), but it'd be a good replacement for the old Kindle that was a hand-me-down from my wife. Since the pre-orders aren't exactly flying off the shelves, I'll mull it over for a few days.

I see this type of comment all the time. Does no one get transparent cases on here or something?
