I went from a 5s to 6s and I'm not crazy about the bigger screen. A lot of times I find myself fumbling to reach a screen element with my thumb (yes, I know about Reachability). I use 3d touch intermittently, but not enough that I can't live without it. I would actually consider "downgrading" to this phone if the specs are decent.

I "downgraded" from my 6 that I was using for ~11 months to a 5S about 2 months ago. Love having the 4" back.

None... our iPhone 5 runs just fine on the current iOS. It's just people wanting more. The A9 processor would be a huge improvement for the 5se... I don't see why anyone would have issues with this spec.
Sure if you want your apps to quit in the background and for safari to reload tabs constantly, even when you only have two open at a time.

Sorry... I just don't see the problem on our iPhone 5... of for that matter our iPhone 6. From a user experience, they both are very good and I'm sure the A9 processor will make the 5se a very capable device.

This has been the case with virtually every S design to the next numerical revision since the 3GS. S models have a leap in internals, numerical revisions have a leap in design.

Not true. "S" models have always been a great upgrade for performance and the camera as well. Just look at the performance jumps from the 4 to 4s and 5 to 5s.

A9 and 1GB of ram? If apple really wants to save a few dollars, why not A8 with 2GB of ram?

It kinda does.

People's main gripe with 1GB was Safari pages refreshing. Now - when you render a webpage it takes up a certain amount of RAM. If the resolution of the display is smaller then it will render it using less RAM.

So, again - What memory issues were people having with 1GB on 4" devices?
Why not 512Megs? How about a race to the bottom, by way of RAM in a device? If ONLY 10% feel the pain, then would that be good enough for the rest? Who cares about alienating 10%, right?

Some people like to ensure their devices last a period of time, you know, since they can't afford constant upgrades.

As an iPad Air 1 owner, I deal with the crap amount of RAM on a daily basis(I use safari daily).

The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were a pathetic upgrade from the iPhone 5s (basically same chip and camera with really minor improvements), so it makes total sense.

But there's absolutely no justification for Apple giving that phone 1GB RAM. That's just being blatantly greedy for what? 3 cent savings?

"Yeah, let's cripple the user experience because we save ourselves $0.03 in production. Margins, people! Margins!"
Ah, the usual crapping on Apple based on a RUMOR. Nothing confirmed by Apple, just a RUMOR and people start running at the mouth.

Fix the software bugs and glitches before adding more new hardware

You do realize that hardware and software are made by 2 different teams? You're never going to eradicate all bugs and stopping hardware releases to do so is simply stupid and something no company does.

We're all glad you aren't the one running this thing. You'd still be trying to sell the original iPhone with iOS 1.0.42389432084893 rather than moving forward and squashing bugs along the way.

If you call a fix 2 1/2 years later along the way then okay then. Communication among teams at Apple is the core issue. Hardware and software teams do not play nice together. Add the rush to market for the investors and you leave glaring gaps as we have seen lately with iOS and hardware issues. QA testing is rushed and virtually non existent. You cannot eradicate all bugs as you state I agree. But knowing what has happened behind the scenes about glitches and bugs, I can tell you its not the same quality software and hardware that it could be due to the bottom line. Its about making money at all cost above quality then blame it on the consumer if something doesn't work correctly until its proven to be a bug or glitch.

The iPhone 5s' design was flawless, their peak aesthetically thus far.
True, I am still using it and like it very much. I wish a 4.7 version.
That said, I am not very crazy about the round edges of the 6. Maybe going back to the 5S straight edges would be the right call for the 7 coming up.

i prefer A8+2 gb RAM than A9+1Gb RAM
i think now Ram is more needed for ios9 and future ios10 than the difference between A8 and A9

Even if said specs are true, I just love all the drama fans that act like they are forced to buy this alleged 4" iPhone. If you don't like, don't buy. Simple as that. The keyword here is BUY, not FORCE.

What if all of these rumors are true about the new device and it does have 1 GB of RAM and the storage capacity configurations are accurate? What I think is an interesting thought is whether or not this is actually going to be an iPhone. What if it's a redesign of the iPod touch that follows the same design cues? That could justify either the A8 or A9 and also justify the 1GB RAM.

Personally, I would be absolutely fine with this size of phone since I am still using my iPhone 4S.

That's probably the right thing to do by returning to the classic straight edge design. That way, it's easier to build and make room for other components. The straight edge seems easier to grasp, I think, for the iPhone 7 in all sizes.

Having different specs besides the screen size is making the lineup more complicated. Simplifying it would be having 3 different screen sizes with otherwise equal specs.
True, but I was generally referring to the decreasing ofbtye overall total amount of phones in the line

Eh..? To be fair, it was hardly a pathetic upgrade. I skipped the entire 5 generation as it had nothing to add that my 4S could not do as a phone, even when they (ahem.. allegedly..) tried to cripple it with software updates...

However the iPhone 6, is a much better phone for productivity IMO, in that I can actually [properly..] read and reply to emails on the road and allowed me to dump my iPad mini. I now only need my 11" MBA and a phone when on the move.

Now you could call the 6S a pathetic upgrade and I would not disagree with you.

It is not always all about specs and why Apple do not always seem to care for them in the way some of us do.

My 5s is still going great. The only thing I wish it had is ApplePay

Do you have the latest version of iOS9 running on it? Im still on 8 with my 5s, dont really want it to slow down as they do with updates when newer models are out..
