You're missing the point...Ok, if you are upset that the wireless case costs $40, then why not just buy with the standard case for $159 and call it a day?
Nevermind

Interesting, did you order the one with the Wireless case? And are you in the United States?
Wait, where are the black ones? I could have sworn I definitively read a headline stating they were coming.

Tsk, tsk.
I don't get when people complain about siri. Works fine for me. Just used her in carplay on my drive to work to build a radio station. No issues. Setup homebridge to make my non homekit items work with homekit and siri controls that fine. Ask for directions and she does it.
Works for texts. Occasionally siri doesn't get it 100% right but neither does google.

Don't reply if you don't get the whole point of my postSounds good bud. Keep whining about the prices . . .

It's honestly strange that so many people in thee rumor ring swore by thee black, matte color? maybe its an unfinished design that seeped out and won't come out until 2020

Wireless charging case should be standard not an extra cost
You have no pointLMAO... ok. Whatever you say. Don't reply if you don't get my point...stop whining about the prices. HA HA HA HA.

My airpods are just under two years old and I’m noticing the battery life is getting to be terrible. I think they also have a “throttle” of sorts because they don’t get anywhere near as loud as they used to and I clean them religiously. As much as I love AirPods, $200 is a lot to fork over for a set of earbuds with no sound isolation and internal batteries that go flat after a year or two. Creeping up on TOTL over-the-ear ANC Bluetooth headphones and high-end IEMs.
Not outstanding at all. I just think the negativity is way over blown. In my truck I'm using an aftermarket mic that came with the pioneer headunit and it's mounted on the dash. Despite the road noise and the loud cummins diesel it still hears me just fine. You must have an outstanding voice with perfect deflection. That seems to be one of the only ways Siri works on a somewhat consistent basis.
I'm not suggesting that Siri should be able to understand improperly spoken words, but the tolerance level is low and the background computations (reasoning) are not very good on many things.
If Apple had a promotion where you could trade-in your 1st gen AirPods for some store credit applied towards the 2nd gen AirPods I would probably be vastly more interested.
But this is Apple we're talking about and that isn't realistic.![]()
They do have such a program. Applies to macs and macbooks too. Not sure about airpods.Doesn't Apple have a GiveBack program where you can trade in an eligible device for credit to offset the price of the device you want? Would AirPods be applicable or just iPhones/iPads?
I very much doubt they have a W1 chip as that's apple only. But there have been a ton of clones out there for a long time now. They don't have all the features though. Close, but not all.A little off topic but in related news the clone makers have just come out with a near 1:1 copy of the airpods complete with a w1 chip and wireless charging. Always interesting to see the timing of announcing new products when the copycats seem to be catching up.
Still won’t fit my ears, so hard pass. Looking forward to H1 being used in a device with, say, silicone tips.
The rumors say the new iPhone will do that.
Although I understand your logic for this, I think you may not be correct. If Apple is as serious about health monitoring as they claim, I think they'll want to get something out ASAP with those feature added. Though perhaps the issue remains the ability to miniaturize those components. As always, we'll wait for Ming Chi Kuo's take!
