The most interesting thing about the new AirPods is the talk time enhancement. I'm not buying a new pair, as I'm satisfied with battery life but listening time is way better than talk time. I guess because the AirPod with the mic active has to send a lot more data back to the phone, while the communication is easier while listening to music as the tiny device mostly receive packets.
I only seldom need to take a call with a single AirPod as the other one is charging, it happens if the call is very long (about 2 hours) but I'm glad they managed to make them more energy efficient.

As for Hey Siri I don't really care, I rarely use it and double tapping on my ear to activate it is ok.

I can't help but notice browsing the Music section on Apple's website, I can't see the spot on the website where it showed off the AirPower mat with the wireless charging case and the iPhone X. Or am I just missing it?

As much as I want new AirPods I'm going to hold out. I sense an iPad 3rd gen situation. Rumours persist true AirPods 2 may be just 6 months away. I suspect there's a reason these haven't been given the '2' moniker

Disappointed they stuck with lightning other than USB but otherwise looking forward to the reviews

They dont isolate sound at all so NC would be pointless.

Actually, ANC would be even more appreciated in a pair of earphones that lacked passive isolation.

Am I the only one who could care less about a wireless charging case? I use my airpods every day and normally only need to charge them like twice a week. I really don't see the benefit, maybe, once the iPhone can wirelessly charge other devices I'll care.

This is phenomenal news and ahead of the keynote next week. It makes you wonder what sort of things will be announced next week. I thought that they would be announcing all these products for the event at that point in time.

Everything this week pretty much guarantees that next week will be services only.

Can't find that information in the product page. It only says there is a new H1 chip and we can guess it is Bluetooth 5 but we'll have to wait for a teardown to find it out.
It does say it is faster to pair and more power efficient, and that's great
