Surprisingly it won't be any hotter.
Do you think it would be the same as the current model? Because when I feel the underside of them in the stores - it's like fire - and I'd have mine on 24/7 like that. This issue really needs to be addressed.

The Santa Rosa platform is designed to run at the same thermal specifications as Napa did.Do you think it would be the same as the current model? Because when I feel the underside of them in the stores - it's like fire - and I'd have mine on 24/7 like that. This issue really needs to be addressed.
Maybe higher HD specs.
You might as well get the cheapest hard drive in the MacBook and upgrade it yourself.I kept the Hard Drives the same because they would compete to much with the MBP if they were increased to 120/160/200 respectively.
My prediction:
New MB coming out November 6 -- along with upgraded Mac Pro? -- possibly November 13. It will have: Santa Rosa platform with 2.0 and 2.2, X3100, LED screens (remember that massive order of 13.3 LEDs a few months ago?). The casing will be the same as the current lineup.
As for Oct. 30, there's just no way Apple was going to come out with a new MB so close to the release of their new OS. Just think of how many customers came in to buy Leopard and bought new MBs at the same time. But the MB line will be refreshed enough to keep sales running strong through the holidays.
Also, there is no way they will release a MB now with a snazzy new aluminum casing. Then they might as well discontinue the whole MBP line. Apple will, however, come out with slimmer aluminum MBs -- in about April or May, 3-4 months after they announce their radical new design for the MBP.
I can see new enclosures on the MB announced tomorrow.
Its still the MB not the MBP.
MWSF is the most likely time the MBP will get a new refresh anyway.
I know, people will say "with the updates its more like the MBP!"
Does not mean it will stay that way.
Keep in mind that SJ said that new products are in the works for 2008 that will knock our socks off.
I'm about to buy a new Macbook Pro,
anyone heard of any updates for the pro?
I would hate to order it this week and then
the new one comes out a week later.![]()

All models will have LED backlit screens, X3100 graphics, Mac OS X Leopard, and an upgraded iSight camera to match that in the MBP and the iMac.
The MacBook Pro and iMac have a 1.3 MegaPixel iSight.whats the difference between the isights? MB and MBP

No. The MacBooks are lower res.
Well you can take pictures at 1280 x 1024.OK so the Santa Rosa Macbook Pro's have a 1.3 MP iSight whereas the previous Macbook Pros (which is what I have) and the Macbooks have a 0.3 MP, but they both result in a 640x480 image due to down sampling on the higher MP camera.

I'm tempted by a new MacBook since I've grown attached to my Dell lappy. It's fun to sit out next to a building and use the Wi-Fi while waiting for the bus.![]()
