"the successor to the GMA 950 that has been used in every MacBook model to date. The X3100 chipset is only found on Satan Rosa platforms."

Satan Rosa?
X666X Chipset =)

Couldn't resist this. Lols :D

I just want them to hurry up and update them so I can give them monies and finally get off this crusty old Dell that I've had forever.

Hopefully, with colors, too.

I want to give tribute to my new Cupertino-based overlords! My monies! Let me give you them, Apple!

I know exactly how you feel lol, it happened to me back in May when I was shopping for a Macbook..I waited until the speed upgrade to get it.

I don't even care what comes out anymore to be honest! I just want a damn macbook. I CAN'T buy one because the new one is comming out soon. I guess I'm lucky that I decided 2 weeks ago to get one, but everyday this drags on more and more and I just want the damn thing with Leopard so I can use Back To My Mac and get the hell off of my dad's POS vista laptop. I'm sure others are feeling the same pain as I...

Things I want: :)

Slim Alumium Case, LED Screen with slimmer frame around screen

Am I the only person who'd instantly buy a macbook pro that came in the macbook case?

if i had a nickel for every time the case dented around my powerbook's power jack ... i'd have 15 cents. one for every powerbook i've owned.

i hate the dents. metal may look better, but it just seems like too much a durability sacrifice.

LOL... same here. It's been an expensive Apple year for me.

1 24" iMac
1 $600 iPhone
1 4GB nano (gift to father)
1 30GB ipod (gift to sister)
1 macbook
1 apple airport
=$3800+

I have no idea if this has already been stated (probably has, I just didn't want to go through 17 pages), but I was reading somewhere in here that maybe the Macbooks will receive their update at Macworld.

I have to totally agree with this. Macworld is a huge event, and I think that it makes total sense that it would be updated then. Why?

I think that the Christmas season gives Apple a chance to deplete their current stocks of Macbooks in order to make room for the new ones. Although this will thoroughly piss off thousands of people, it makes sense.

Does anyone else agree?

Typically the Macbook gets updated in Spring and Autumn (Fall), but you could be right - these are small statistics.

Hey guys,
I ordered a new macbook mid-month, and it was supposed to ship last week. i got an email mid-last week saying my new macbook delayed and will now ship "on or before nov. 2nd" Do you think this is an indication that there is a new macbook coming out then or before then and that's what they're going to ship me? If a new macbook came out, say, tomorrow, would i be able to do the price protection program and get a new one, even if i originally ordered it mid-october. The only reason I feel like I might be able to is because it still hasn't shipped, and I can't imagine them shipping a macbook out when there is a newer model released. Or maybe that's standard? What do you think? It just seems to me like there might be some reason other than leopard that my macbook is shipping so late.
thanks.

Nov 2 = Friday

Well, Jobs spoke very clearly about releasing the new iPods in this semester to be able to sell, sell, sell for christmas. Why not sell a couple of MacBooks for christmas as well?

wow I wish you were related to me! :)

I second compuguy's idea. MacBook + Gaming rig is the way to go! :)

The Apple Store MB product page says it comes with Tiger, so I guess they will update that when they update the page tomorrow

all of the computer lines say that they ship with tiger. and of course just above that, there is the "every new mac ship withs leopard". maybe they'll upgrade all of them tomorrow. well, maybe.

Give me

-12 inch screen (more pixels though)
-C2D on Santa Rosa
-128 mb dedicated graphics
-Aluminum
-Throw in something I'm not expecting too

Thats exactly what I want too...but we all know its not going to happen lol :(

Well if they get close I might pick one up.

I mean, don't they have any drive to deliver a very portable briefcase notebook with good features that looks professional? God!

i believe the specs u listed out matches a macbook pro much more than a macbook. regardless, there is zero chance that the macbook will receive dedicated graphic

I agree.

1 model. BTO options. Many colors.

or

1 low end model 1 color... multiple colors in the high end model

Low End White
2.0 GHz Core 2 Duo
80 GB Hard Drive
1 GB Memory
Superdrive
$1099

High End White
2.2 GHz Core 2 Duo
120 GB Hard Drive
1 GB Memory
Superdrive
$1299

Black
2.2 GHz Core 2 Duo
160 GB Hard Drive
2 GB Memory
Superdrive
$1499

All models will have LED backlit screens, X3100 graphics, Mac OS X Leopard, and an upgraded iSight camera to match that in the MBP and the iMac.
That's what I think too, maybe some bigger HDDs.
Maybe some appearance changes too, to match the iPod and the iMacs:p
