I'd like to know what Apple would charge the Family Plan subscribers to just add the 2 terabyte iCloud storage. If $25, that's still a significant savings. We are paying Apple $29 a month for Music + TV + 2TB iCloud. so the Premier would save us nothing but it would also give us services we don't need (News, Arcade, Fitness).
So no savings for you, but three extra services to access for the same price. Sounds like a good deal to me.

I'd settle for 1TB on the family plan. 200GB is just stupid.
Not really. As of today, that is the only Apple Service I use.

The thing is, I only backup the items that fit on each of our devices and documents (and the devices themselves) in iCloud.

The rest of the family items get backed up locally. I put in a 2TB SSD on my 2011 iMac and I back it up regularly to external drives (Time Machine AND Carbon Copy Cloner).

It's entirely possibly they allow me to upgrade my One Family Plan to 2 Terabytes of iCloud for less than $29 in which case I'd be saving money. $2-$5 a month isn't much but it's something.

The only service i dont currently pay for in the individual plan is Apple TV so... over all i'd save $1 haha but it's something....

i really wish they would up their icloud storage plans already. 2TB just doesn't say $10 the same way that 4TB does...

I was thinking about that just now after seeing all the comments about 50GB and 200GB. Can't believe we still have 5GB as the default option. Can't imagine that's really usable in any meaningful fashion right now.

Hopefully 2TB gets replaced, I have seen people mention they've surpassed 2TB and had to start making changes to how they use iCloud.

Maybe they knew this all along and are forcing people into the $30 plan.. I feel like most ppl don't care about arcade and need more than 200gb of iCloud.

For sure, they are using the popular services to help out the less popular ones.

News+ I am sure isn't heavily subscribed to, but if it is now free with the plan they can market to publishers a larger subscriber base who may never open the app. Same is true for Arcade and Fitness+ (if it doesn't grow popular in its own right).

I am currently paying $4.99 for apple music with my student discount. Wonder if Apple plans a student bundle price because right now it doesn't make sense for me to go to Apple One.
I’m wondering the same thing. Currently $4.99 for Apple music and TV+ for students. I’d pay $10 for a premier-like student package🤞

If a bundle matches what you want you are fine. Otherwise...not a good deal. If the individual didn't have just 50gig of storage I would have bought it. They need to start with 200gig. Oh well.

aha. listen, 5GB that you just get for nothing, i can live with. but inability to get the amount of storage i need is the reason that i still spend $1 on them, while i could be spending $10 and more if they gave me storage that is sufficient. i would be quite ok with 4TB, or a more expensive unlimited plan. but yea, when the cap is 2TB, it's like WTB...

For those wondering, footnote #2 reads "Savings based on standard monthly pricing for services purchased separately."

Family tier fits my needs very well. My only issue is iCloud Storage, I need more than 200GB. The FAQ states that I can pay for more, but... do I have to pay full price to upgrade from 200GB to 2TB? That seems a dealbreaker for me, especially since Premier is not available in my region.

Sounds like the only way to get more storage is to upgrade the plan itself? If so, I thought it'd be something like add $x a la carte, as having to upgrade the plan would mean getting stuck with more services you're not interested in.

Heh... I feel like an outlier. Apple Arcade is the only thing I'm interested in. Ofc that's not saying much... I use iPod Touch 5 (on ios7) and iPad Air (on ios8). I haven't been inclined to get new hardware just for that. For music, I just go on YouTube, or Sirius XM that's already covered. Don't have an aWatch for the upcoming Fitness service.

Annoying how Apple decides which services need to be bundled together in Individual and Family plans. I do not want Arcade.. and I've barely used my 50GB of iCloud storage. Why can't we choose what we want to bundle? I already subscribe to Music and would maybe pay for a Music - Fitness+ - TV+ bundle or maybe Music, Fitness, TV and News.

Like most of these subscription services they are fine if there is a big family sharing the cost. Its just me as Mrs AFB has no interest in these things, so you really get stung. Again a customise option would be great.

Bummer. I was wrong when I predicted the prices would end in 9. :(

On a serious note, since I already pay for Apple Music, paying an additional $4.96/mo for a bunch of other stuff seems like a good deal.

They are bundling services not many people use on purpose. They don't want you to BYO on purpose. This is like TV where you only really care about 8 channels but get stuck with 40 others.

How do these bundles work if you are part of a family plan but the organizer uses a different account for iTunes purchases (due to legacy content already owned) and for iCloud? Would Apple One be applied to both accounts of the organizer?

I expected Apple to knock it out of the park with their subscription pricing on these services.
I was woefully mistaken.
