Bundle bundle bundle bundle bundle bundle bundle!!!

I am so excited about this aspect of the presentation today that I nearly wet my pants. I think the bundle plans are much cheaper than people anticipated and I will definitely save a ton of money with them. I am currently paying $25 per month for family Apple Music, Apple Arcade, 200 GB storage plus 50 GB + 50 GB storage for my two daughters. (I won’t share my 200 GB with them because they would chew up that limited space with their careless storage usage. 2 TB I would share, however.) Now I could get Apple TV+, News+, Fitness+ AND 2 TB for $5 more? F yeah!!!!!

Everything else outside of this part of the Keynote will fade away in my mind as I scream with excitement about the Apple One plan.

Apple needs to offer BYOB aka Build Your Own Bundle.

I think they want to boost adoption of Arcade. As someone else has said on another thread, Apple Music is probably their service with the higher operating cost per active user, but also most likely their most profitable; they have to pay for each play of a song, whereas, for Apple TV+, they pay production and that's pretty much it (I doubt there's backend for the actors/producers/directors... could be wrong though). Arcade, I don't know what profit sharing is like for it, but I assume it isn't overwhelmingly profitable or overwhelmingly expensive to operate, hence why I think they are trying to get as many people onto it at every tier (doesn't cost them much + growth opportunity). iCloud Storage is iCloud Storage... many others offer more storage for less, so I don't even factor that in.

Apple News+ probably has a somewhat high operating cost per active user (same logic as Music), but unlike Music isn't bringing in a whole lot of users, so bundling it in one of the lower priced tiers probably isn't financially sound for them, and putting it in the same tier as with Fitness+ makes sense because of both their limited international availability. They might also thing that Fitness+ will encourage people to jump from tier 2 to 3 (either on its own merit, because it is the shiny new thing, or a combination of the two).

I have a free year of Apple TV+ (Got it in July) and I just resubscribed to Apple Music for the year. I'm not entirely clear about what Icloud does (I have 5 free GB now, right?) and I'm not a gamer. I can't see myself getting this.

I think the biggest and probably only problem with these bundles, a lot of us have different separate accounts, one for iTunes+Apple Music and different one with iCloud, i wonder if we will be able to combine both easily, i hope so!

Been wishing for this dream to come true for a decade now. Not getting my hopes up. This is probably the ONLY long term complaint I’ve had with Apple, but it’s a big one in my book. Let us merge the stupid accounts Tim!

I load Apple Gift Cards to my iTunes account which pays for my Music and Arcade subscriptions. For iCloud storage, I can only use a credit card. I wonder if I can still use gift cards to pay for Apple One?

I don’t understand how you move from an existing subscription to Apple One. I have the free AppleTV+ subscription until November, Apple Music I pay monthly and Apple Arcade I paid annually which expires end of January.

So if Apple One starts at the beginning of November and I sign up on day 1, will I be paying extra for Apple Arcade until end of January? Will there be an overlap of Apple Music subscription by itself and with Apple One?

Apple then says any services I haven’t already subscribed to are free for the first month of my Apple One subscription. After the free trial, the plan automatically renews as a monthly subscription. I haven’t subscribed to AppleNews+ before. If I get Apple One, which is £30 for Premier, how is AppleNews+ free as I’ll be paying £30 from the beginning?
They are probably still working on that. Which is why the bundles are not available yet. But I have the same question. How does one upgrade if they are subscribed already to some of or all of the services.

these tiers don’t really make sense. There’s no particular reason to believe, for example, that a single user wouldn’t want fitness+ or news+. There’s no particular reason to assume a user would need all four of the base services rather than 2 or 3.

They need to allow customization of the bundle for this to appeal more broadly. Like, why can’t I bundle 2Tb iCloud with Apple Music and fitness+? Or just news+ and arcade? Or everything except Apple Music?
This tiering makes perfect sense, because bundles like this ALWAYS are made with the intention to push weaker performing products/subscriptions and not to make two- three best selling subscriptions, that everyone uses anyway, more cheaper.
Same as TV packages earlier- I wanna see one channel, but I HAVE to get a bunch of useless ones in one bundle because no one would buy them separately

The EU prices are identical: 14,95€ and 19,95€ (no Premiere cause News app is no thing here and Apple seems to think we‘re all mentally challenged and can‘t deal with english language content in terms of Fitness+).

I essentially rock the Family plan at the moment: 200GB iCloud, Family Apple Music, TV+ (although that came free with my iPhone, but turns to a 4,99€ sub soon) which totals at... 14,99€ + 2,99€ + 4,99€... 22,97€.
If you add Arcade to the mix, I‘d end up at 27,96€ so this is banger value for your 19,95€

Will definitely jump ship to the One sub right away. I was also interested in the Fitness+ sub but I highly doubt they manage to dub that for „no english please“ germany any time soon. News+ seems to be the least appealing sub due to the lackluster content (doubt any publisher would even join News+ if they were to launch that service here).

Why did they have to put News in the Premier package only!??! Not that I really want it, but if TV+ and storage is already in there I would have considered the Individual package ONLY to get rid of the freaking News+ stories clogging up my news feed.

I don't use News+ at all myself, but I know your pain. I am currently paying $10/mo for News+ only to stop my girlfriend's complaints about the clogging up you described lol :D. But since I am already on a family plan, that Premier bundle is a blessing for me.

I forgot that I’m in the same boat with two different emails. iCloud storage with my App Store email account with a credit card. Apple Music, and arcade with my @me.com account using a gift card. I sure hope it’s an easy transition for us and we aren’t locked out.

I only need iCloud and wouldn’t mind News, so the current bundles way to expensive for me.

It seems like they primarily base these bundles on Music ($10 for the individual, and then $15 for family or premier).

And then if you're a user of Music and Storage, they start to make sense. I imagine music and storage are their most common services.

I know myself I currently pay 30 (15 for music, 10 for storage, 5 for arcade). Right off the bat it'll essentially give me TV, News, Fitness for free.

I think the objective being is to consolidate some subscriptions and to pump up subscriber numbers.

As you say storage and music is being the pinnacle of this deal, if you are not in need for one of them these packages won't make sense.

Arcade and News I found very niche, one of them being more geared to younger generation, other more geared to older one. The first one having to attract new customers as games are new and exclusive and the second on trying to retain the old customers who stopped buying magazines...

Apple TV+ is ok as long as you watch that few shows you might be interested in. I don't think there's enough content in the long run. Almost everyone I know does subscribe to HBO / Netflix / Prime or Disney+ as well or primarily.

Fitness+ I don't get. Maybe if it was free. Maybe it's the misconception that spending money on a convenient alternative will actually make you work out, when it probably won't. There's a bunch of great (free) content online for that. Integration looks pretty good though.

But it will be funny to see Tim boast about in October how millions have signed up for Apple One.

Wait, there's still no news app in Europe ??

Classic Apple. With the storage as it is its useless..
Anyone wanting the Family Plan - like me. Cant. Because most people have more than 200gb icloud across their family. So the only jump you can do is join the premium plan.. so pay for everything and pay apple more than you currently are.

Ill skip.

I would guess Apple would credit you any remaining time on a paid subscription (basically Arcade for you). Meaning you would get $15 credit if you subscribed to Apple One at the beginning of November.

Daringfireball reports that you can add to the storage provided by the bundle. For example, if you have 200 GB from the family bundle, you can add another 200 GB for $3/month.
