Big, bold color. That's all that matters. Obviously it got your attention as you've been talking about it all morning. In that case, it's done its job.
I'm not. It must feel like I high looking out the window.I feel sorry for the people whose office is behind that huge banner...
The only reason it has my attention is because every rumor site is reporting it as news.
When Apple did the MacBook stickers ad and flashed in an old six color Apple logo that was cool. I don't think it works here. This looks like an LGBT poster which is fine but I don't know what that has to do with Apple TV. I'm sorry but I don't look at this poster and think 'ooh a new TV is out, I better go check it out'.
Well that makes more sense that the colors are a throwback to the old apple logo. When I first saw this, I thought it was the Gay Pride colors and was confused since Gay Pride day has already passed. Thanks for the clarification. Those aren't the NTSC color bars, those are the six colors from the old Apple logo of the 80's and 90's. The bars on the bottom are like CMYK but the M and C are too dark.
When i see those colours on my TV it means i am calibrating colorsWhen i see those colours on my TV it means something doesn't work right.
Epic fail apple!![]()
His divine grace.....ya LOL!!To all those blinded by the darkness of ignorance (and thus interested in this ad. campaign and product), PLEASE, do yourself a MASSIVE favour and immediately procure a copy of the book, "Bhagavad-gita As It Is". Bathe your intelligence in it and make a huge step forward in your existence.
Because we all know the people in Marketing are also the ones writing the apps, so getting mad at them for doing one and not the other - especially when it's your thing - is entirely sensible.Big money for marketing campaigns, but still no Remote app support and no Bluetooth keyboard support.
Not even Apple's own Bluetooth keyboards.
When i see those colours on my TV it means something doesn't work right.

We had the flag this summer already in amsterdam

Ahem...Steve Jobs said that Apple didn't have to advertise because the products sold themselves, my have the times changed...
Most billboards and ads in West Hollywood are marketed towards the gay community. Mistaking an ad campaign for gay pride support is definitely not cruel or insensitive. How very cruel and insensitive.
Yes, your understanding of color bars. When i see those colours on my TV it means something doesn't work right.
Yeah, I wonder why they're even a member. It's quite funny to click on your profile and read your posts. You are on a mission here! Thanks for contributing!
The Shot on iPhone 6 campaign was eye-catching. What's eye catching about this?
Clearly there are better ways of product awareness, no? Why not an ad campaign that makes you aware of Apple TV and actually showcase why you would want one?
Good marketing and good advertising are two different things. While this is good marketing as in getting the Apple TV attention, it's a blah ad as its not describing the product nor giving any compelling reason to purchase it.Hmm...I find this ad campaign almost as dumb as the Genuis one from a couple years ago. Does Apple think this is going to get someone to buy an Apple TV?
What exactly makes a good marketing? What does the old Apple rainbow logo have to do with the Apple TV?

If you have to explain it, then the concept is a fail. Those aren't the NTSC color bars, those are the six colors from the old Apple logo of the 80's and 90's. The bars on the bottom are like CMYK but the M and C are too dark.
I think you forgot your /s tag. These are brilliant Awareness ads. It's clear Apple TV is going to grow into a huge product for Apple! This is a huge campaign. It certainly makes a statement that their product is being positioned as different.
If you think hard what should the ads be like? A copy of the Roku, Amazon, Netflix etc?
This campaign is extremely bold. It's impressive and most importantly different.
And even if the ad was intended to be a rainbow flag (it isn't) what exactly would the problem be? If gay-targeted ads bother you that much, then by all means keep your homophobic dollars out of the Apple store, and leave more things for the rest of us.
