Apple is saving the Home devices for a separate announcement in November. Stock is already staring to run low on the Apple TV and HomePod at some store locations. It won't be long now.

So nothing this week!!!
That is extremely disappointing
I was all geared up to purchase mine next Friday.

Hopefully the wait is worth it.

I've been thinking about retiring my faithful HD, but I don't expect a new model will be anything more than a spec bump, with Apple's own networking chip, and the capability to support Apple Intelligence, for what that's worth.

so youre saying with the value add of apple intelligence it should be cheaper right?? :)

I was convinced, or had convinced myself, that it would be coming this month.

It’s the biggest leap from previous product to new product of any they have released this year if it comes soon,… and in any way matches up to even the worst specs predicted.

Everything else has been incremental in comparison.

I pray it’s soon 🙏

I wouldn't be surprised if it gets pushed into '26, along with the HomeOS, or whatever HomePod device they're working on.

In fact, I'd welcome the delay, if it meant Apple is going to stage an event with it, and whatever other products there may be in the pipeline, and show the world it will now commit to seriously tackle the Home/IoT market it has largely ignored, and allowed Google and Amazon to dominate.

Siri and HomeKit were pioneers, but that lead was squandered and their stagnation is coming back to haunt the company now.

While I admit I dislike Apple's direction with Music and media in general (having loved the old iTunes), I would gladly welcome an ATV device that served as a center for HomeKit like setups and more. My only two things I want would be the home system as in HomeKit and ability to play multiple file formats of files I have on a NAS or even DAS to the ATV.

For me it’s the case that we want a new one for the living room but I purposely haven’t got one because of all the noise suggesting one was coming when in fact, it was exactly that-noise with no actual concrete evidence that one was being released and I should have just bought the current model and got on with my life.

sorry for the pray emoji if it offends
im looking for a stick and box approach that have some sort of link
main power box on living room tv and sticks on my other 3 tv's
lose the horrendous built in interfaces of the existing and go all apple across the board
although the Roku simplicity is somewhat endearing and the android sideloading is invaluable

My concern about delays is that it launches with out of date hardware. An A17Pro Apple TV 4k would seem like a bit of a slap in the face if it launched in 2026. I would hope for an A18 minimum (or a binned A19 Pro given the iPhone Air flopping ;)).

The A17 Pro is a 2 yr old chip
and getting older
and a new device needs to have a current chip.
A19 should be the minimum 4K120 possible
or even 8K60 (?)
it would be massive for the gamers.

Apple isn't releasing an Apple TV for gamers.

I seem to have been waiting forever to update my Apple TV from the one I have, which is the 4K 1st Gen from 2017. Hopefully not too much longer!

Does it not do everything want it to already? I feel like most people just have must-upgrade-itis over this Apple Tv. I'm glad my 1st Gen 4k's haven't needed to be upgraded for any appreciable reason!

The next version will likely have AV1 codec support and support Apple Intelligence. I have yet to see a compelling reason for Apple Intelligence on the Apple TV though.

Have you upgraded your 1st gen models to OS 26? If so, do you notice any slowdowns or stuttering of the interface?

Sounds like most folks dont need this upgrade after all.
