I love my ATV 4 but the Ethernet port packed up on it last year. It performs really well using WiFi but with a new model, I could relegate my old one to another room.

Same thing happened to my ethernet port and relegated it to the kids' playroom. Tried other cables, different ports on the switch, nothing worked. Connected a different AppleTV to the ethernet connection and it worked like a charm. It was only a month or so out of warranty too.

There is no chance it is going to be a laptop or anything else like that. It might be the new iPad Pro ... though Apple AR glasses would be neat af.

Honestly, the one more thing is probably the apple arcade... it will be far more mundane than we think it is.

The last time he did it was actually for the Apple Watch.
“One more thing…” has been used three times since Tim Cook became CEO: Apple Watch, Apple Music, and iPhone X.

Each served as a pretty significant pivot for Apple in retrospect. So, what’s this one?

Or maybe they became the 4th most valuable company in the world by offering mid to high-end products, and they plan to stick with that.

I don't want Apple to offer cheap(er) stuff.

For sure they've become valuable through that means; however, it is my opinion that the 20-30% price increases of late have not been reflected in a 20-30% increase in quality or utility. This, combined with situations like the introduction of poorly-designed keyboards (butterfly and Touch Bar) and the soldering of all parts that were previously user-replaceable, have led me to the opinion that Apple's products are not competitive nor worth the cost to me.

I really think it is a missed opportunity to not have Facetime and a camera on the AppleTV. Even if that means requiring a 3rd party camera of some kind. Family calls would be nice to do them from the couch without holding a phone, tablet or laptop.

With the way things are going with all of these leaks, I doubt that Apple will release the GM of iOS 13.0 this week and wait until next week.
Well, yeah. While I don’t have stats on it and can’t speak to it with 100% certainty, pretty sure that since major iOS releases have been tied to new iPhone announcements, the GM has been held until after the event is over. No reason for this year to be special.

I can't see any reason why I would need a new Apple TV any time soon, had my 4K since release day and it pairs perfectly with my LG OLED. I'm not interested in gaming on it as I have a PS4. Maybe it'll be faster but I have no speed issues with my current ATV.

This will either be a monster keynote and they will rush through everything or the iPads and MBP will be an October event?

My take on the "One More Thing" announcement: the heavily rumored 16-inch MacBook Pro with the new redesign. Forget the Glasses. Not happening anytime soon.

I am absolute with you on this. That is my hope as I just sold my 15" MBP in anticipation of this.

I am kind of doubtful that the pro will be announced next week. I think it will be held until October at the iPad event.

However, there's always hope...

I believe the last time Mr Tim uttered the "one more thing" statement, an ad followed. Definitely not holding my breath for this one. Aples "one more thing" days are long gone

Agree I feel this is for people who want to arcade on it, I’ll stick with the 4K that came out few years ago

It uses top quality - pro standard components. No way could it be £99. If you want cheap in every way, buy an Amazon device.
It's truly wrong to expect pro level performance for £99.
Pro... man this made me fall off the chair... but only after I spilled my coffee.

Consumer tv are now PRO? What does it do that is PRO?
Can’t stop laughing....thanks!

Agreed. But Apple seems hesitant to put USB on these (understandably leads to hacking) and they don’t sell well enough to garner a separate line of accessories.

Would be more because of Apple Arcade streaming services. I'm sure the current ATV 4K will be fine because A10X is still a very capable chip. But maybe Apple prepares new ATV to face off with more demanding graphics on its Arcade library.

If you rarely play games on it, old gen 4K is still a very capable machine, especially if you just want a 4K HDR movies and music playback. I would keep it until at least the next refresh. Maybe with A14 or A15 chip, that'd be a bigger jump from the current one.

Let hope they finally get rid of that CRAPPY REMOTE.
