Only reason I bought wireless beats in the first place was.... CLEARANCE! Otherwise I wouldn't have bothered, they are vastly over priced for the quality of sound they put out.
Yup, Ethernet will always be around for Servers, Wifi Access points, desktops, and docking stations (5K TB3 Display). I'd be perfectly fine if I never saw it on a laptop again though.I don't think ethernet will ever really go away. Wi-fi has become so ubiquitous that when you want a stable internet connection, the only way to get it is through the wire. There is so much interference in the airwaves already what with cell data and wifi fighting for space. Ethernet or a version of ethernet will always be around IMHO. Never say never I always say.
lol they have to fill the time somehow for what looks so far to be a pretty lackluster event.I don't suppose we'll see Dre on stage doing his own personal beat down demonstration.
Agreed... but we all know that won't ever happen. Why? Don't know, but it just makes TOO MUCH sense for them to do something like that (improve it), they don't roll like that. While Beats are generally overpriced garbage, if Apple poured some legitimate research and development into either making Bluetooth audio better or lightning audio clearly superior to the analog headphone jack - and released the resulting products under the Beats brand - I could picture myself CONSIDERING buying a set of Beats headphones.

Yay.....another boring filler for another boring Apple Event.
Why is it that guys always say "My wife's cat" but "OUR" dog?! LOL!Pretty excited about this...my wife's cat just chewed up my last pair. Although they're no "hi-fi" grade cans they are quite good for the morning jog.
This is going to be a lot of announcements...Beats, iPhone, iOS 10, Apple Watch 2, watchOS, macOS
Oh no!!!!!!!!!! No headphone jack! Before we know it they will remove it from the Apple Watch. Wait a minute......, it was never there and nobody complained. I just hope the iPhone has a scsi port, that really is a deal breaker.
People really like to slam Beats, but they actually are pretty good.I really do like my Solo 2 headphones - they've worked really well for me. However, one thing I would like to see would be a lightning input on the Solos for charging. As it is now the Beats are the only device I need to charge on a regular basis that use the micro USB input and it'd be nice to not have to carry another cable around. A small issue for sure, but it would be nice.![]()
I don't get all the hate towards Beats. Even if they made them "clearly superior" people could only picture themselves CONSIDERING buying a set of Beats. They're already pretty good, and if Apple poured R&D into making them obviously better than any competitor, I would definitely want a pair.
"We've removed the headphone jack from the iPhone, and now we've revolutionized Beats by removing their headphones. You can now have the high-profile look of Beats, all without the sound. We call them 'BeatsAir'."
What? Are you serious? Beats is pretty much a license to print money. Most popular brand of headphones. Most marketshare, most revenue, and... Apple's specialty... most profit. Why in the world would Apple get rid of that? There are a huge number of headphone buyers who don't care about Apple or Apple products. They like their Beats though. People derided the Beats purchase as too expensive and too un-Apple like. From a business perspective, Beats was the smart choice. That brand, like them or not, is what sells. It definitely wasn't the quality of the sound. To be fair, even that has improved greatly. A logo-less set of Apple headphones would slice all of that sweet, sweet Beats profit that I'm sure Apple executives love.GET RID OF THE BEATS BRANDING AND JUST MAKE THEM LOGOLESS APPLE PRODUCTS!
Maybe that's why they are coming out with a new version???Only reason I bought wireless beats in the first place was.... CLEARANCE! Otherwise I wouldn't have bothered, they are vastly over priced for the quality of sound they put out.
By removing the port, Apple does not have to include a component and the associated manufacturing labor. That decreases production cost. Since Apple does not lower the price of products that have fewer components, that means they get a larger profit margin. Is there even any word of the reason why they have decided to do away with the headphone jack, in what way does it improve the phone? It really is starting to look like a blatant Beats/Lightning MFI cash grab. Bit risky they could really get trashed for this.

And the reason consumers love that Beats brand is because they want to love what their favorite celebrities claim to love. Those consumers ignore the facts that those celebrities are paid to say that they love the Beats products and they get the Beats products for free. What? Are you serious? Beats is pretty much a license to print money. Most popular brand of headphones. Most marketshare, most revenue, and... Apple's specialty... most profit.
I just hope the SE gets updated, to include 3.5mm plug, when I'm in the market for a new phone. The choices will be very difficult, otherwise. So basically Tim realized that the beats purchase was not profitable so he said ill just remove the headphone jack so they have to buy my beats now haha. Still thinking profit over product is the BEST... IDEA... EVER!
