If they just update the internals of the 13" and bump the resolution to the same higher res the MBA has then I'll put cash down for one on day 1.

+1

hopefully it's soon too. using the onscreen keyboard for the bottom row of my keys is starting to get pretty tedious!

What the hell - as long as we are making stuff up to suit our own needs, I'm voting for 2/15. It's a Tuesday and it's the day after Valentine's Day. It's also my sister's birthday.

It's perfect.

I would really love to celebrate your sisters bday with a new MBP. HAPPY BDAY! :D

OMG
I hope it's this week
I've been waiting for a year and half (I had saved all the money for last year, then something devastating happened, so I had to spend my Mbp money and start saving again)
Idk if I can wait much longer!!!
I need it for my graphic design classes :E

so basically your store isn't selling macbooks until the new ones come out? which means its gotta be soon (after valentine's day xD)

I hope that is the case. I am set to buy a new MBP and if they were to uglify the MBP to look like the MBA then I was going to have to look elsewhere. I hate the chassis design of the MBA. If they just update the internals of the 13" and bump the resolution to the same higher res the MBA has then I'll put cash down for one on day 1.

Speak for yourself! 11.6 owner here I'm loving the design evolution of the MBA

I feel the same way. The new air looks like a really thin binder which is fugly. The pro unibody is beautiful and I hope for slight cosmetic alterations but it it looks like an air I'll be ordering something else and will never look back. If someone gave me an air for free I'd throw it right back in their face.

Apple.ca still shows stock for all unfortunately.

So, how does the announcement usually works? Do the media get an invite to a conference a Monday, citing them for the next day? Because then we'll know for sure which week is the right one...

Well someone doesn't understand the value of a dollar if you would through a $1000 in someones face if they gave it to you

Maybe the next air redesign will bring it closer to the ipad, a thin and straight design. or should i say the iphone 4? :)

Sloppy analysis. It misses a couple of key points.

3) Cost. 256GB SSD run in the $600 dollar range. Making SSDs standard is going to erode the cost that apple has driven down over the past few years on MBP to appeal to more consumers. New pricing would have to make sense and not drive off consumers.

You can get 256 GB SSD in the Air today for an ok upgrade price. I wouldn't rule it out that they have 512GB on the MBP for a reasonable upgrade price.

According to Intel, the memory controller only supports up to 8GB
that is pretty annoying actually. 4gb of ram was a luxury a couple years ago. Its the minimum now. 8gb will surely be the minimum in a 2 years or less.
For my purposes 8gb IS the minimum.
I was hoping for 16 or 32gb ramspace. All the OS that matter can support that much ram. It would also be nice if the memory controller allowed more than 2 channels, but thats really dreaming.

Just went to the Amazon site, and saw this. Another good sign.
