We might all be strangers to each other but our browsing patterns are all same.. that is priceless..

Priceless - just like the countless hours we have wasted when wanting the next Mac really bad and hoping to light a hope from a heaven-sent rumour here or other related website, while the fear of buyer's remorse keeps us from purchasing the current one which we all know is somewhere in the second half of its cycle. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who has had it this way.

lol.. exactly!

Well - nobody can say that we don't do proper research before we buy new computers.

Last post for me for tonight .... Thought just upload it here for those of you gonna stick around for while tonight...

Some news I uncovered.

Sorry, I'm on a mobile phone, so the link might not be normal.

Once again, it's nothing we don't already know about. But what worries me about this article is how they compare the mba and the mbp.

"The 13-inch MacBook Air performs as well as last year's 13-inch MacBook Pro"

This is completely incorrect, since the Pro has twice as much ram and at least 5GHz more cpu clock speed. And this is only the base mbp, which is cheaper than the 13" air.

Which MBP has 5 GHz more clock speed?

Cnet seems to base some of their reviews on the feel of the computer, not its overall capabilties. Because of the SSD, the macbook air can feel and actually be faster at basic tasks. So saying its as fast as the macbook pro is not at all wrong, as in many ways it is, but I wouldn't call it completely right either. They should be making it clear that once the macbook air is given any thing other than basic tasks to do, it quickly falls behind even the lowest in macbook pro.

Cool pic made me LOL! That in 1200p for a desktop would be hilarious and probably the best advertisement apple could imagine.

Apple store Canada still shows ships in 24 hrs for all machines :/ then again we don't have the population power to make much of a difference

http://www.amazon.com/Apple-MacBook...ZJTG/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1297724565&sr=8-3

According to this product page, there is only one 15 inch 2.4 ghz Macbook pro left in stock at Amazon. There's more of the other 15'' models, but only one left of this one.
Maybe we're getting closer?

That was from a third-party seller on Amazon's site. However, you will notice that Amazon DOES NOT have that model in stock, and gives a shipping time of 2-5 weeks - which makes a stronger statement, don't ya think?

Ah, that works too. Thanks for the clarification.

Flying around, it's not so easy finding new tidbits about the MBP. But, here's a small item:

http://www.ipadjailbreak.com/

Yeah, i know it is from an ipad site.

I SO HOPE this is true. The colour scheme of the poster suggests MBPs won't be the centre of attention. Although if they are released at an Apple event, we should be in for something new. Light Peak, and/or a major internal change, perhaps. Whatever it is, I hope it's good.

Now especially looking forward to the 2nd of March.

EDIT: Maybe a transition to quad core CPUs!!!! :D :D :D

I think that image was probably from an older iPod event. It's doubtful that Apple would set up the convention center before invites are even out.

That pic is from the iPad event last year. March 1st sounds plausible though, I've said that date few times :D

That poster is indeed the one of the latest iPad event.

I think the 1st of March is quite plausible. I think they might even have had today as initial release date, but due to processor problems they postponed it two weeks.

Now why would I think that? Well, it's quite a simple puzzle: As on any event, it doesn't all fit around just one product. I assume the 'free' subscription to The Daily ending februari 14th, might have indicated an iOS release on the 15th, and thus an event on the 15th. Possibly an event where MBP would be released as well as a device for 4.3 (New iPad, possibly?).
Now I have read some news earlier on several sites suggesting the Intel problem would have only delayed Apple 2 weeks. This adds up to the postponed iOS release / prolonged free Daily subscription.

I think that due to processor delivery problems, they have postponed the event by two weeks to March 1st, clarifying the longer free subscription to the daily to Februari 28th.

I think the event will not only be about the MBP, but will somehow include iOS 4.3, and why build an event around an iOS release when not releasing a new iOS product? Or announcing one? I think: Say hello to the new MPB and iPad 2, while we all upgrade our current iOS devices to 4.3 on March 1st!

Man I hope Apple doesn't announce the new iPad 2 and MBP on the same day and release close to the same day. As someone who has been waiting for both, that is a huge cash outlay in one day. I was hoping for MBP in February and iPad 2 in April.

No one is forcing you to buy both on the same day you can buy them separate.
