I’ve noticed an issue when you reply to a post with an attachment, that the space where your reply text would appear, is out of frame. You have to scroll the page down to see the area where you would start typing.

It has happened to me twice this morning. I don’t know if you just started typing would the page scroll up so you could see what you are typing, because I have not tried that yet. Here is an example of such a post located in PRSI: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...xperts-say-probably-not.2198910/post-27772910

Select just the emoji as you would any normal text characters, then increase the font size.
I assume this would only be for my benefit, or would the change be visible to others?

It's visible to others, and in my earlier post with the megaphone emoji. Here's normal size vs. specified using the "Font size" option: 📢 📢 (I assume the second one is the size you want).

Problem is, emoji size varies depending on the OS and fonts used. I'm on MacOS now, which matches iOS, but they look different on Windows. And on older or more obscure systems (like the iBook G4 my screenshots came from) they may not show up at all.

It's ight, I like the way the old one works (esp the like button design), but this website definitely needed a design refresh so it doesn't look 10 years old

When I first joined in 2014, this forum looked like it was straight out of 2005 on vBulletin 3. It has definitely come a long way.

Have a screenshot? Also updated that post to better clarify what I meant / fix a typo

I had saved a few .webarchive files. Only rendering issue seems to be the double-arrows.

Missing the 'most liked posts' button. This was my most used feature especially on longer threads. I'm less likely to trawl through comments now as finding the occasional gem will be that much more time-consuming...
Seems like a lot of the times those "gems" have often been some type of memes or jokes to one degree or another that really didn't say too much meaningful one way or another about the actual topic.

I’d like the dark theme much more if it didn’t draw unwarranted attention to elements that don’t deserve it. It seems a lot of colors are preserved between the light and dark themes, or they’re too close together, when they shouldn’t be at all.

Other than that, it’s mostly a wash between old and new for me.

But would that also make the text larger too, which I don’t necessarily want?

The emoji are font based, so any font operation can be used on them, though of course not all font operations will have an alternate look (like italic). You can have different font styles for each character in a post, so you can change the font size for the emoji independently of the post. Like so

I can't seem to figure out how to see if a watched forum has new posts in it anymore. In the old layout forums with new posts used a darker font (in the watched forums list).

So is this a setting, or would you have to set it each time you use an emoji? If it is a setting and it is the T in the toolbar at the top of the editing window, I might be convinced to take the extra time, because I use these a lot.

That's how I did it anyway. May be multiple ways. But I still think you have to set it every time you use an emoji.

I’ll clarify my position regarding this poll. Functionally, the forum is outstanding. My critiques involve esthetics, the appearance of the forum. I would choose more contrast in the colors used. This is why a theme, selectable by forum members , something like the dark and light that already exist, but more choices, would be outstanding.

Some are so small, I might take the time to enlarge them. Thanks!

So turns out I have no clue where to find new threads anymore. Can only find new posts, not new threads

Also don't seem to be able to pick sorting options inside subforms, like "newest thread", "latest reply", "most replies", etc. Am I missing something here?

I don't see either of those options.

Make the request over in this thread the site owner @arn is following.

Is there a huge demand to have these emoticons as an option? Surely a site for serious (ok, not always as serious as perhaps it should be) discussion about Apple centric issues can do without smiley faces for users to express approval for another user's comments. Just my opinion...
My opinion is that emojis can add substance to the post where sometimes the tone is not clearly indicated by text alone.
