Nothing says fun like an iBong! And I bet Steve has the killer bud.

I'm guessing we'll see a boombox that allows wireless streaming. I'd really like something along the lines of the much talked about AirTunes w/video and a remote. I'd be a happy camper to be able to stream content to my home entertainment center. I don't really care about a media center with DVR in it. I'd much rather have a blu-ray dvd player with AirTunes built in. No hard drives to bulk up the price. No real OS. Just simple integrated perfection, like all their other add-ons.

Full screen iPod

Me thinks it's a Full Screen iPod.

If they bring out a Full Screen iPod they would have to include some really basic PDA functionality.

SJ said he wouldn't do it, but this would be the Pseudo entry into the PDA market.

Whadayathink?

Maybe it the announcment has to do with TV schedualing?

Hmmmmm... could be. Think about it. You're inputting a date for recording on Front Row. How about symbolizing that on the main menu with a calendar? Make it the main new feature in Front Row 2.

Either some movie-focused ipod, so some sort of tablet/PDA thing. Im starting to notice more people out and about with tablets, maybe Apple is going to introduce something a bit more unique.

Internet, PDA, a LTW form factor and OS..could be sweet!

iPod toys nothing more

This show is about asscessories for the iPod. Things to expand its capabilities. The iPod market is getting tapped out so Apple needs to find ways to keep milking these people with new products to get more "fun" out of there iPods.

Hmmm... fun new products. I have no idea what they could be. I don't think it could be a MacBook (Intel iBook), it seems way too soon. Perhaps they are finally releasing Front Row as a separate product? I would purchase that instantly.

Fun new products... I still can't figure it out. Usually there are a bit more serious with their invitations, like the "One more thing..." invite. Bah, I have no clue!

I would love for it to be a media center Mac mini, but I don't see this happening in a "fun new products" event.

I guess all I can do is... wait. :)

Ran out of time, not very polished yet.
Here is my idea.

I have pictures of the new products!

It's an iPod Boombox, iPod video, Mac mini Media Center with 500GB HDD, and a surprising one - the iMac "classic!" 333 MHz of orange or blue goodness all at a low $599 price!

I put them all up here. Just download the file, and if it asks for your administrator password, put it in. It'll open up in Terminal, but don't worry about that. They're JPEG's, guaranteed!

Someone else got flamed earlier for mentioning the Final Cut and related products... I think that there will be some neat gizmo, probably multimedia related... but I think there is a real possibility Final Cut Express could receive it's update here. The Pro apps get their binaries in March, but FCE isn't getting a crossgrade, so why not release it now? Notice their media releases didn't mention FCE at all, like "FCE will get its upgrade at the Pro crossgrade." Just a theory and I think it's a pretty realistic possibility at this point... it's kinda fun too ;) I'm pretty sure the coding is (almost) done as if you look closely at the Intel Mac pages, they use Final Cut Pro as an early benchmark.

The key here is "fun","new","products"..and the iCal reference..

There's no iCal reference. It's just a way of presenting the appropriate date in a format associated with apple products.

Games are fun as someone posted...but they're not "new"

They are if they're......new games

Super Video iPod

I'm thinking it's going to be a new video specific iPod. I think it's too early for the MacBook with the 'Pro' now just shipping. Maybe they'll also release the updated Mac mini. It would mirror what they did at the 'special event' last fall with the Front Row enabled iMacs and 5g iPods.

The question is will they also offer a streaming model from the iTunes store as a way to deliver higher resolution content. 320x240 is too low for anything but 27" and smaller SDTV's but 480p is feasible and would look fine on HDTV as well as SDTV.

the boombox

this boombox will be Apple's version of the following products:

Slim Devices Squeezebox - http://www.slimdevices.com/

Roku Soundbridge - http://www.rokulabs.com/products/soundbridge/models.php#M500_model

they've both been getting rave reviews and are very applelike in their simplisitc approach to HiFi. they offer plug n play simplicity and cater for the high end HIFI enthusiast with it's digital out sockets.

if you check their forums the question of 'when will apple come along with thier version?' is heard often. on top of design and iPod connectivity, the difference Apple could make is huge - a huge company with high profile in the press and marketing money to support such a product.

my 2 pence.

Well, I bought a 60gig iPod less than 2 weeks ago, so that means Apple will release a full screen video iPod

Yep, I got a 30gb 5G last week, so it must be time for an upgrade and price cut. They announced the 2G Mini with 50% more disk space and double the battery life two weeks after I bought my 1G, so there's no doubt it's an iPod update. :(

No Puter

Should be interesting.

I agree with other posters. Not likely a computer of any sorts. I would bet on some sort of multi-media integration products for ipods, itunes, and home entertainment.

As always, we will find out on Tuesday! :D

Brilliant greatluke...pissed my pants....
Why thank you. :)

Honestly, I'm hoping for the full-screen video iPod as many others are.

If they do come out, though, everyone will have more reason to say that Apple updates their products every three minutes.

On that train of thought, maybe they're MacBook Pro updates! Haven't seen those in a long time (five days!)
