Ah, so Apple's simply releasing a new version of iCal - it all makes sense now... :p :D

I wasn't aware of this. Can you elaborate, or is there further information on this somewhere? Why?

Windows only because the key components consist of:

Processor:

Dual-core 64-bit processing power means smooth performance and complete control of your digital media.

Chipset:

Advanced technology works in harmony with Intel drivers for vivid graphics, smooth video playback and support for up to 7.1 channel surround sound.

Operating system:

Microsoft Windows* XP Media Center Edition makes it easy to control and enjoy your digital media.

Media Center Mac...

Media Center Mac, Media Center Mac, Media Center Mac, Media Center Mac, Media Center Mac, Media Center Mac, Media Center Mac, Media Center Mac, Media Center Mac, Media Center Mac, oh, come on Media Center Mac!:) :) :)

Feb. 28th, 2006 is Mardi Gras. Coincidence? I think not!

Obviously, they're releasing a new lanyard for the iPods, made of beads instead of plastic. When you put it around someone's neck, they show you their... OOPS.. I've said too much...;)

I'm going to guess it's a scaled down version of OS X (lite) that will run on the new redesigned Nintendo DS. And include iTunes Lite as well.

Heh..seriously though...

I'm pretty anxious to see what fun new products are coming up! :D

or just go to any apple store and not at 9AM!!!

i think this could have something to do with the ipod stuff that was missed during the keynote?

any takers for that idea?

Traditionally Mac only calls people to HQ at Macworld and the following October, they arent doing this just for a new ipod, expect a new Mac

I think you're trying to tell us something, right? :)

I was thinking something along the lines of that new ipod FM Receiver...

Something like a WiFi transmitter so that you can stream your ipod directly through Airtunes.

Simliarly, I was caught by this concept photo...

http://www.applele.com/pict_04hipod_r02.html

What if you designed a whole gaggle of accesories that dock directly to your ipod?

You could have iCal, or any other PDA type accessory with hardware that locks into the bottom of your ipod using the dock connector.

Given past invitations (the one with the theater curtains), I think this one with the iCal thing will be for some sort of revamped iCal or an Apple PDA of sorts.... Oh yeah...Come on Feb. 28!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Isn't it the other way around, they show their "OOPS" first and then you put the beads around their neck?

As far as I can remember, the iPod socks were previously the only Apple-branded product in history that Apple introduced as being "fun."

So be warned.

What??!?! No way... The original mac was a "fun" product. Remember that little smiling guy when the thing booted up? That was fun, fun, fun. :) :) :)

I'm expecting a product with facial recongnition security, so now you'll have to smile to get the thing to boot.

apple pda?

So, I'm not really in the "oh my god, apple needs to release a new pda right now" camp, but doesn't it seem pretty obvious that this is at least a possibility?

Coin pocket invite = ipod nano (fits in your pocket)
Theatre curtain invite = ipod video (watch movies)
Calendar invite = ipod pda?

I just don't think the calendar graphic is coincidence at all.

I've heard some cool stuff about CalDAV a new standard that should allow iCal to act as a client to a web-hosted calendar. I'd love to hear an announcement on that front. It would make my work / home separation much easier...

thoughts?

But I do not feel like smiling everyday. :(

hmm im thinking similar. curtains and front row and now this iCal icon. probably deals with some sort of scheduling, but it has to be "media" oriented for them to bring the media in. it could be a type of media center but i doubt it. could be some type of pda/ipod thing but again i have doubts. so what would make my ilife simpler that deals with scheduling?

While the Apple PDA has been rumored to death...

You might just be on to something. Though maybe not a PDA, maybe a... dare I say it... smartphone?
