Has anyone gotten their new product yet? When you do, please post pics of the packaging. I don't know when mine will get here. UPS won't give me a tracking number, and the people at the online Apple Store seemed confused when I asked for "the new product."

I mean, I know I'll want one, and I'll probably not care what it costs, so I just gave 'em my credit card and told 'em to put me down for one of each color. Or shape. Or whatever. One of each. Just no extra RAM.

Has anyone's shipped yet?

would be amusing to have the 1 billionth iTunes sale during the event with video of the lucky winner jumping up and down..... but it will happen before the 28th and may be the first thing Jobs mentions.... my guess is either
(1) the video iPod
(2) the event will be solely devoted to the shipping of my MBP!!!!

???? how is that possible i heard that was one of the driving forces on the switch to Intel ???

Where did you get this info? As far as I know, it never was the reason to switch to Intel. I belive, Viiv is using Windows Media DRM as content protection. I am sure that can be changed, but for now it is using that (as I said, that's the info I have, but may be incorrect).

And where did you get this stat from? Considering the RAZR is the most popular cellphone, it would surprise me if 7 out of the top 10 phones were smartphones.

Most cellphones sold are almost always done in conjunction w/ a carrier plan. The best selling plans are nearly always w/ the lowest cost phone. Considering smartphones are the most expensive mobile phones, I definitely question your claim.

Your logic seems good to me. I was of course exagerating, but the Blackberries and Treos seem to be taking the market, at least here in Los Angeles.

Sorry about that, didn't mean to suggest I had any idea what I'm talking about. All the women in my life will assure you that I don"t...:D

and so here we are.. at mac os x 10.4.5 and iCal still says jul 17 when not opened... *tear.. porque apple? porque?:( :( :p

Exactly. That's not cool Apple.

Why couldn't it be New macbooks in colors of your choice with new Ipods in color of your choice? I think someone on here said the Sony Vaio does it, which by the way is hot!!.

No, that's why this isn't going to be new laptops, I'll bet money on it, that Market Researcher guy should be ashamed of himself really for spewing that crap.

Expect iPod accessories like Speakers and the "iBoomBox" or whatever it is called. Perhaps some other "new" accessories we can't predict. The Mac Mini is I would say a slight possibility.

What we won't see: iBook, 17" Powerbook.

While I'm a bit concerned about the strain on my credit card, I'm thinking that Apple is going to announce a line of high-end products for people living the "Think Different" Mac lifestyle.

My guess for the first one? The iBlimp. So many people drive to work. Lemmings. Why not float along in the clouds? Mac users are used to being different, and we're used to things being slow (G4's, delivery times), expensive, full of hot air (Steve), huge (PowerMac G5), etc. I think it'll take off, as it were. The shape is obvious (an apple) and the stem could serve as an antenna for improved wireless reception.

The iBlimp would be white and provide 99% of the functionality of the iBlimp Pro, which would cost twice as much but be shiny.

Definitely new, definitely fun.

I need a $ amount. :p ;)

This reminds me of something else. I think that when new Powermacs (Mac Pro?) are announced, we should see a whole new form factor. New Intel chips might not need nine independently operating fans to keep the liquid-nitrogen-G5-cooling system operating at a temperature just below the the temperature of the surface of the sun...

Whoah, I'm not even sure if I know what I just said.

Oh, and...

Powerbook G5s next Tuesday!

Don't you think the high end would be the iRocket? Soar to work James Bond style. Of course, given our impending consumption of the world's oil supplies, the iRocket would be hydrogen powered. :D

Okay. Let's think.

It's a CALENDAR with Feb 28 on it.
CALENDAR=PLANNER
PLANNER=New PDA! (Makes sense with them talking about touch screen technology)

BTW here's a joke.

How many Newtons does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
Foux. There to eat lemons, axe gravy soup.

Steve will promise a Mach 3.0 Rocket Pro in a year, but it will never materialize.

Edit: but the enviro-friendly hydrogen power would draw Bono to the project, resulting in the U2 Shuffle, er, Shuttle in ugly red and black.

I don't think even new MacBooks are special enough for the 30th anniversary. New 13" and 17"? So what? We had them before (well, 12" and 17"), and they're coming over to Intel.

If there's something new, like a tablet or PDA, I'd expect it to be then.

Apple Insider seems pretty confident about the iPod Boom Box. On the other hand, the Coin-Nano / Curtain-Video / Calendar-PDA connection is compelling in my mind.

Don't get me wrong, I WANT an Apple PDA or tablet. I've come close to ordering a new-old Newton because of ravings I've heard. I just think something big like that will be saved for the anniversary.

[edit] Although, what if the Boom Box was really a Tivo killer with an iPod dock? That would be awesome.

It's obviously going to be Apple's Playstation/XBOX killer! Perhaps called the iPlay or iStation or iBox or MacBox Pro or MacStation.

My Prediction!

The following will be released!

1) iPod BoomBox
2) iPod Video with PhotoBooth adapter. A little camera built into the back of the iPod that lets you run Photobooth on your iPod.
3) Airport Express Video (Maybe).

I was kind of hoping for a bluetooth MacSpresso machine with an iPod docking station, integrated speakers and DVI to hook up to my fridge. :)

this is the wrong topic to be sarcastic in!! ;)
Granted this is a very sensitive topic for many a mac user, but sacarsm should be recognised at all times. And he was WAY off. :p

When are iBooks and minis expected? It seems to me they fall into the category of fun products.
