Look, Macfanboi, any computer and OS that can't author, burn, playback, and proof Blu-ray discs are not the "best computers on the planet" by ANY stretch of ANY imagination.

Not by a long shot. Apple can't even get a basic quicktime update right because they're too busy making sure iFart will work on iCrap iPhones.

As for the rest of your "argument", your closer quoted above shows where your logic is coming from; your hormones.

Study hard and eat your vegetables, and one day, when you grow up, you might actually be able to afford a Blu-ray player and a 58" Plasma and you too, will understand the need for Blu-ray and for pro content creators to be able to deliver content on Blu-ray.

I recommend Panasonic for the plasma, LG for the player that can also handle the remaining HD-DVD discs out there, and any Windoze PC to author, burn, and proof the discs until Apple gets off its dragging ass.

Have a nice day.

I'm patiently waiting for your argument to include any valid, specific reasons for the inclusion of Blu-ray.

Until that time, Apple isn't losing money by "making" you buy a PC or run Boot Camp. They will not lose money for several more years.

I'm not. I fully agree with him. Apple needs to get with the program. The money they are losing is to people buying other hardware to do a job Apple could have provided for.

Fact is, there are many of us who need this ability and have no real means to do so using an Apple product. So be it, it is already clear that phones are their future and the rest is just secondary.

I don't think bluray would have an effect unless in the coming years we use it like we use dvd's.. but even then Apple probably wont die, just less sales.. One thing I can be sure of though is that Windows/PC will still dominate.

Edit:

I'm getting the feeling that the iMacs might have significant updates, which is probably why its taking so long? I wonder if we'll see any cosmetic updates I wouldn't mind if it was all Aluminum without the glass like the pic of the post I made earlier..

Well, I have $2500 cash waiting for the new iMacs to be announced...

B'ray is not important to me. Besides, why would I want an Apple B'ray inside an iMac? Apple puts slow drives in its iMacs...if I want B'ray, I'll buy an external B'ray burner. I only use the DVD burner in my Macbook Pro as a DVD/CD reader...if I have to burn a disc, I use an external, much faster drive. They're cheap.

Thanks. Tallest Skil and his ilk are in the minority, and certainly not among those who consistently spend the most for the highest end Mac product line.

It's very simple really; Apple is already going down the dead-end road of an iCrap easily copied toy manufacturer, and all the kiddies and clueless fanbois following them will be very surprised when they reach the cliff and go over within three years.

What never ceases to amaze me is the continuing defense of Apple arrogantly refusing to be cutting edge on the higher end after having been so for decades; indeed, building their entire reputation and warranting their higher cost on it. What possible motivation can there be for someone NOT wanting to have the best?

Really, nothing to fear; no one's going to take away your iCrap kiddies, except when Apple goes out of business because they didn't take care of the adults.

Lose the adults, and Apple WILL lose the farm and kiddies will lose their toys.

And kiddies will just have to get their far cheaper iCrap somewhere else.

Maybe that's the motivation; they WANT Apple to go out of business so they can get their iCrap cheaper.

=/ I can't believe the new iMacs haven't been released yet. If it doesn't get released by starting of March, I give up! I might just buy that awesome PC machine instead.

Right , the company who is one of the FEW IT companies sitting on billions of cash , not laying off 5000 employees this week is the one who's business model has the problem

Maybe you need to grow up yourself and look at the financials of Apple vs MS

Mhmm... And the fact that I'm getting the next Mac Pro does what to your argument?

Here's how it is: Apple doesn't give a crap about the professionals. They're finding the breaking point–how little differentiation they can make between consumer and professional products–before people stop buying the pro products.

It sucks, and there's really nothing to be done about it. They'll push people past the point where OS X isn't enough incentive to buy crap hardware, lose pro support, lose applications, and then lose the consumer base.

Then they'll give us better pro hardware again.

The point is, that's what they're doing and there isn't anything we can do to STOP them; we can only expedite the process by not buying pro hardware sooner.

MS blows Apples financials away. Cash means nothing, its about MKT share. Also, Apple has little chance of breaking into the enterprise which is where all the computer $$$ is.

In my opinion the whole "must keep everything a total secret" has become very tired. There is no better way to hype a product then to announce its coming. Apple has got to be the only corporation in the world that refuses to keep the customer informed of up coming products. What a stupid way of doing business, never tell the customer what to expect. I honestly don't see how you guys stay so loyal.

That... that.... that was beautiful.

I know what I said. There's nothing that can be done to stop them screwing us on pro hardware if, in fact, that is what they're doing.

But I, for one, don't give a crap about them. I want my Gainestown Mac Pro.

The whole Apple wait forever issues have become plain old stupid at this point. Who even cares anymore? the window of opportunity is closing fast! The recession is getting worst every day and the longer they wait the worst the outcome will be for sales.

Who will even have money left in the next six months with the amount of pink slips being handed out around the country.

That's fine. Like you want a Mac Pro, I want to point out things like this. What can I say? I love to laugh.
