As long as Apple tells me that it's an amazing device, I won't care what it's going to be called! :D

call it jpad for all i care

i just need one. That and 2 atvs, and a mini. Forget drinking the koolaid, I ate the powder. :D

the back of the iPad's all say just "iPad" anyway.
we already know the form factor isnt changing...so why give it a different number.
yes yes i know its all "rumors" but i think at this point, we will not be suprised with a whole different look.
iPad HD will do.

Why not just drop the numbering scheme on all of the iOS devices? How dumb would macbook pro 4 sound? Just make it the iPad and iPhone.

Although I agree, I can buy a 3GS, a 4, and a 4S from Apple. How do you know which one you mean when I ask for and iPhone?

Are you kidding? This is going to be a MUCH bigger upgrade than iPad -> iPad 2 was. In fact, I'd even say it's shaping up to be the biggest iOS device upgrade ever.

-Retina display
-LTE
-New processor
-Siri
-New case (okay, it's just a little thicker, but it's still new :p)
-Better cameras (?)
-More RAM (?)
-Bluetooth 4.0
-More storage (?)

And to think the only differences between the iPhone 4 and 4s were the processor, cameras, and Siri.

No kidding! If they go all out on this one, then releasing an iPad every 2 years would be a more practical since there will be no need to upgrade or release every year.

iPad HD = A5X rather than A6

Ah well, as long as the A5X benchmarks well and powers the HD display with no lag, I'll be happy.

I don't care if they call it iPad Magic Unicorn. Just give me that glorious high res display and enough cpu, mem, gpu to drive it and I am happy.

Sold my iPad 2 a week ago in preparation for this thing so I'm going fracking nuts without it.

Much like Apple does for the iPod touch? The only problem with that, is when developers create an app like Infinity Blade, it becomes much harder to tell people which iPhones are able to run the game. Saying "runs on 4th generation iPod touch" or saying "requires A5X chip" is confusing to most dummies of this world, because most of them don't know what generation their iPod touch is or what chip they have inside. If it says "requires iPhone 4 or newer hardware" it's much more clear to people. Hell, that's probably why Apple creates marketing names for things like the retina display. It's much easier for people to understand a catchy name, rather than understanding what "high resolution" means.

Don't believe me? Just read itunes reviews for any game that requires the latest hardware. There's many reviews from angry iPod touch owners who say "GAME WON'T RUN, 1 STAR"

I think "iPad HD" is a good name. If this year's iPad is only faster with a retina display and better camera then I think the name iPad HD won't oversell some people's expectations.
